It is but it's very rare. Elizabeth Taylor had them. Lois had them in the cartoon. That's why its on the list.

Dark hair and violet eyes. If not dark hair, I'll accept auburn hair with blue or black eyes.

My preference for the dark hair/violet eyes combo is due to the DCAU version. Elizabeth Taylor is a good model to base Lois on but Taylor didn't have natural violet eyes. She had blue eyes but of a specific shade that they looked violet under certain lighting. Make up, lightning and plenty of photo retouches made it seem like they were always violet. It should be the same for Lois, she has blue eyes but they look violet under certain lighting and she makes them stand out for certain occasions. Real violet eyes are only found in people who have albinism.

    Thanks for this Jim.

I'll have nightmares tonight about a blonde Lois Lane.

Lois doesn't look that great as a ribbon girl either.

I think she looks best with the hair down. The pony tail didn't look half bad.
But it is hard to see her with that as she harasses Lex Luthor at a press conference.

When they finally did change her hairstyle, circa 1968, I would say the "ruffle-cut" out of all those was the closest to what she had. It was a pretty common hairstyle at the time--I just called it a flip, but that's not a technical term. The Leopard Girl look made a comeback in the 1970s.

I thought it was called the flip? Anyway, as you say it was pretty common in that era, as typified (and perhaps inspired?) by Mary Tyler Moore's role of "Laura Petrie" on The Dick Van Dyke Show.

Ah yes, needs hair curlers(for hours) to make it work.
