As Jamie and Jinny sought to save the former, they would quickly realize they had forgotten someone: Domo. Having been braced this entire time behind them, the large man crawled upward, seizing Jinny before whipping her into a nearby seat. Bloodied yet unphased, the man reached his charge and was beginning the process of unbuckling Debra from her seat.

It was around this time, amidst all of the conflicting chaos, that Toby had reached the zenith of his ascension. With the succession of front and rear tires kicking off the upper ledge of the building, the bus had begun sailing over the top of the small apartment building they had climbed. Sandra's words rang out throughout the cabin of the vehicle and regardless of what logic the others might have held previous, they instinctively knew they needed to get out of the bus immediately.
Perched on a backrest as the vehicle drew its tack and continued to climb up the side of the building like the incline of some morbid fair attraction, Suzie snapped to attention as the worst of the gas cloud cleared. Short, rapid breaths anchored her thoughts, and though it smelled like ashtrays upturned in an east-end pub, it was just a little bit easier to breathe.

Only just. The ribs of the phantom that floated before her drummed, one-by one across the jagged maw that stretched from crown to navel, clicking like long, clawed fingers set within that starving mouth.

"...what are you," she thought aloud, but it never so much as turned its head. Instead, 「Jigsaw Feeling」 began to creep toward the hole torn through the back door of the bus. It was just a few feet ahead of her, and yet it seemed to have intuited just what she wanted to do, had she the will to do it.

Suddenly, the light began to swirl in the cab, and the debris that stuck to the walls began to shift back onto the floor. We're at the top? Which means there's nowhere left to go but--

    JYA-SHAAA---!!!

「Jigsaw Feeling」's dark phantom hand seized her own and pulled her through he air as it kicked off the wall, hastily trampling its way toward the exit. As she moved closer to the exit, she spied the now companionless George where he lay in his seat...

Having securely herself protectively between two seats during the latter half of the....elevator bus. Lucy had been waiting for an opportunity to either retaliate against the attackers or escape, and it seemed both came at around the same time just as the bus reached the apex of its journey.

With a flurry of motion, the other proceeded with a similar idea in the aftermath of the....fall of Florida. In a panic they all proceeded to escape out the back while the fall would be less of an issue....and Lucy could find no fault in that logic, so proceeded out at a similar pace.

Just ahead of her, the girl she had been seated with was being forcefully carried from the bus by.....by....

    Lucy squinted a moment.

Maybe the tear gas had managed to get into her ears a bit despite her attempts to avoid it, she was sure something was carrying her...but her gaze couldn't focus on it enough to really nail what it was. It was almost....no...it was definitely....just like...

There would be time to address it later, only death awaited anyone left in the bus at that point.

The remaining attacker, the man named George. The one who had been hesitant to go through with all this in the bathroom...had she confronted them then instead of brushing off the potential threat as none of her concern.....how different things would have played out. Now he sat....seemingly accepting of his fate.

".....I'm sorry for you loss...." Lucy passed her parting words to the man as she moved past. "But if you don't wish to be another unintended casualty of that driver.....you'd best exit the bus now...."

And with that, she leap forward and out the rear of the bus.

George was unresponsive, his eyes glazed over as he looked ahead. Both of them would see it, although Lucy would see only a rough outline and a few details, but there it was, seated right next to him.

    A cow-fish... mailbox thing.

Unlike its user, the strange creature turned to face them, its pupilless eyes burning with hatred.

"killyou!" It said, yet did nothing as the two of them left the vehicle.

This was not quite the end, in Suzie's case. As she descended to the roof below, turning to look underneath the bus would reveal another strange creature. Resembling a human bound in latex or leather, two large rings would hover around the humanoid's hips and shoulders, from which numerous, spider-like legs had burrowed into the underside of the tour bus. Moving more like a fish than man, the being known as Volbeat swam through the air, guiding the bus off the other side and down below.

While she didn't exactly intend to knock Flors out the bus, she also wasn't exactly remotely remorseful over the man who had shot at them falling to his likely death either.

Just as she wasn't exactly sympathetic to the state of his partner in crime, who she found herself suddenly next to.

Thankfully, George seemed to remain as quiet- or rather, unresponsive- as ever, though she made sure to keep an close eye on him in the event that changed.

Alas, other things changed first, and while she was certain it was a bad idea, something told her the man probably wouldn't move at all unless he was made to move.

And so, after a moment's deliberation, she made an attempt to pull him off the bus with her.

Unable to see what Suzie and Lucy had, Gula would find herself unprepared as she reached forward. Before she could touch the man, an unseen fist smashed into her face, propelling her out of the back of the bus.

The gravity upended itself as Suzie was spirited away behind a ravenous demon that issued whatever she would whim, plowing forward on the carpeted floor of the tour bus. Amid the fugue of chaos, she once again found herself drowning in nervousness, but for the few salient thoughts that bubbled to the surface, for the spike of pain that had shot through her neck and shoulder was a beacon of clarity.

Was this a dream? Were they going to make it out of here alive? Have I gone entirely mad?

It was at that moment she saw...it. Far too solid to be a mirage, yet possessed of some etheric quality that suggested it wasn't entirely material, either, its hide sloughed and stretched, ill-fitting over its boxliike frame, lips peeled back.

The man it hover near seemed near catatonic, but as the avatar of her「Jigsaw Feeling」pulled her along, some way or another, the apparitions made contact. And she quite clearly heard it speak.

Of course this was nothing compared to what came next as the thing leapt out from the bus. Eyes bugging out of her white face, Suzie clutched her suitcase between her knees, still split in half from when it had spilled. The ground left her bearing, and perhaps in some futile attempt to somehow...will herself back onto the bus, she turned her head around...

    "--ha-aah~!!"

How to describe such a thing? Bound beneath the old bus, was like the abomination aboard a thing that seemed equal parts mechanical and animal. Through the air it...slithered? Wriggled? To say it flew would go against the grain of sense, as it carried the dilapidated metal hulk over the building and out of sight.

The sheer magnitude of that translucent horror was enough for her to be put outside her thoughts. Not only was the monstrosity, this jagged, many-legged thing , she somehow intuitively knew that it was real.

It was enough to disengage, however briefly, from the present reality that she and the others gathered at the old Junction Station were falling haphazardly onto a roof. There was no change of direction now, but how were they going to manage to land safely?

Her arms bound her knees and her knees pressed the suitcase into her chest and she bowed her head, and spot the young woman with the guitar case out of the corner of her eye-

Immediately, 「Jigsaw Feeling」 reached out with one of its long arms and snatched up Lucy, then swung about as it fell onto the rooftop...with an uncharacteristically silent landing. The munitions expert was laid down first, gently, but for a moment Suzie found herself suspended in the air, stiff and shivering before she collected herself enough to move again, falling to the rooftop on knees of jelly.

Slowly, she turned her head, and the thing gloomed over her menacingly and it suddenly came back to her.

A fit of psychosomatic memory, an echo of the fever that persisted until she'd found herself fallen through the world.

"...it was you...? What are you...?"

    [Aftermath, Volbeat Touring Heist]

Ultimately ruled as an attempt to ransom any potential Joestar inheritance from legitimate heirs, any attempt to further investigate motivations or rumors of "unnatural" driving have been deemed unnecessary.

    Suspects
Toby Keith: Unknown and at large
Flors Line: Deceased, his body was found on the sidewalk of Driftwood Community Apartments
George Line: Apprehended. Despite the state of the tour bus when found by authorities, George was found to be physically safe. Unfortunately, he suffered a psychotic break, fueled by the grief of losing his boyfriend, Flors, and attacked anyone who approached.

    ---------------

Thanks in part to quick thinking and teamwork, all of the children of Joestar had managed to escape the tour bus and now found themselves atop the roof of Driftwood's largest building. Despite the August heat, the elevation and wind were enough to keep most of them comfortable, or at least in various forms of comfort; after all, Boris still had two gunshot wounds, Gula now sported a black eye, and Domo was a towering bloodbath. Among them, Debra Joestar seemed to be recovering, although it did require another bout of vomiting before she was coherent,

"Ugh, how embarrassing," She muttered with a groan, only to feel the comforting hand of her bodyguard on her shoulder, "Thank you, Domo..." Turning to the rest of them, Debra reached forth and embraced Jamie in a hug, "Thank goodness we all made it through. To think I vouched for that maniac... leaves a bad taste in my mouth," That might have been the vomit, though.

This of course led to the question of what now?

Despite Toby's detour, they still had a day until the reading. Recuperating after the day they've had might be beneficial, but this had simply been the cherry on the crap cake the entire journey so far had been and any haste to end it might be better than any period of recovery. Regardless of what path they took, they would need to descend the building and no doubt deal with the very curious authorities.

The landing on the roof was easier than she feared. As Jinny walked over to the edge of the roof to look over the edge, she moved her left arm only to find the effort accompanied by a sharp pain. "Oh, great." mumbling under her breath. With a sigh, she found some solace in that it didn't appear to be broken. Probably just a muscle or ligament tear from the jolt of grabbing the seat back earlier.

Keeping her arm to her side, she carefully looked out over the edge of the building, wanting to find out where they were and what was awaiting them down below.

Jamie was shocked for a moment from the rather sudden hug, but that shock left as quickly as it came and her arms reached around Debra to return the hug. Enjoying the feeling of being safe and hugged, Jamie allowed her eyes to close as she allowed herself to relax in the feelings.

"It's OK mom. You just made a mistake, and he obviously hid himself quite well." Jamie murmured, then with a sigh pulled away from her as she said "Now, I need to see how the others are doing." Seeing Boris and his twin bleeding gunshot wounds, she added "Starting with Boris."

Moving over to the dwarfism-afflicted man, Jamie looked him in the eye and gently touching his hand to search for any signs of shock as she asked "Boris, how are you feeling? Any injuries... Well, besides the gunshot wounds to the leg, obviously?"

Vivan made sure her hat was properly positioned, before attempting to light a cigarette... only for her fingers to fail to produce a spark. "... damn." It took a lot out of her, [Witchcraft]; though perhaps that would help her in figuring out where she needed to go from here. So she turned to Debra in all her post-vomit glory.

"Where's the nearest place to get a bite to eat?"
Yeah, but if you... man, we're getting into weird analogy territory, like if you disintegrated Superman's arms he wouldn't be able to go "fool! Little did you know that my arms and I are one and can be remade from me!" and will his arms back into being from pure nothingness. - Pendaran
