    THOR #16
    DONNY CATES (W) • MICHELE BANDINI (A) • Cover by OLIVIER COIPEL
    Variant Cover by NIC KLEIN
    MARVEL GAMES VARIANT COVER BY NETEASE
    Marvel Anime Variant Cover by PEACH MOMOKO

    Deadpool 30th Variant Cover by ROB LIEFELD

    “REVELATIONS” PART 2 OF 3!
    Thor has only known two things, being a warrior and weilding a hammer. But he is realizing that in order to be the best ruler of Asgard that he can be, he must give up those two things. Who is Thor without them? And hostilities between Thor and Odin reach a boiling point as “Revelations” continues to uproot Thor’s entire world!

    32 PGS./Rated T+ …$3.99

    I think this is the start of a transformation of Thor into a true ruler/skyfather of Asgard, being more mature and less dependent of Mjolnir, for example. Sounds like the most interesting arc to me so far.

    Since the Jurgens run, it just seems that Thor with Odin force is just regular Thor that hits a little harder.

    The last time he did anything major with the Odin force was recreate Asgard on Earth and that was a long time ago.
    His fight with Bor seemed to indicate high levels of power during the same run you're referring to, but yeah I feel you. The Odin force alone should put Thor waaay above any other character marvel has save for massive cosmic entities like celestials, Galactus, etc...

    "Thor has only known two things, being a warrior and weilding a hammer." - So basically how Jason Aaron sees Thor.

    Yes it does. It seems to be exploring a new direction to Thor, to take him down the road to a really big transformation. If it is as big as Odins had to be to defeat Cul, then it’s going to be a world breaking Event. We may have to find out if the Skygods are real gods, or just Aliens. And if they were Aliens, Odin really altered reality by doing what he did to Earth.

    Btw, cates just answered my post on twitter, about the mystery of Mjolnir:

    @JasonVerve

    Does this new arc of Thor shed some light about Mjolnir's mystery (even if just a bit) or it's gonna happen further in the future? Thanks!

    @Doncates

    It does indeed

    “When we first introduced Phoenix, we wanted her to fight Thor or the Silver Surfer, but (new Editor-In-Chief) Jim Shooter wouldn’t allow it,” Cockrum told Comic Creators On X-Men. “He said no female is going to beat Thor or the Silver Surfer. We kind of sneaked around him by sending her up against Firelord, who had once fought Thor to a standstill. We established her power levels that way.”
