In a future story, I would like to see a T'Challa/Okoye pairing. For starters, Okoye is actually a full-blooded Wakandan. Second, she does not have the luxury of special superhuman abilities to hide behind as Storm does. And third, she's one of the 'Adored Ones' or 'wives-in-training' so she's been preparing for this day her whole life. It's high time she graduates. As a true warrior woman, her courage and sacrifice know no bounds. This is why I feel Okoye should become the next Queen of Wakanda.

T'Challa/Okoye can produce a daughter named T'Koye who can become the next Black Panther.

Would be interesting. Helps that Okoye has a naturally commanding presence like T’Challa. Though personally I think it’s better for them to be platonic.

That's the whole point. Dora Milage means 'wives-in-training'. How would it mess up the politics if a 'wife-in-training' became a wife to T'Challa?

I mean in the contents of the MU. Other writer's (other than his cabal) have ignored what he has been doing other than aesthetics. Frankly I dont care about those people who say support the book because it's Black, regardless of the contents of said book. They mean nothing to me and imo are part of the issue with showcasing Black folks in a positive light because they just accept whatever bullshit for "diversity" points Instead of demanding that the content actually uplift and show excellence

Dora Milage means "Adored ones". Wives in training was just Ross's westernized way of short handing the situation. He's the only person who calls them that.

It would seem like T'challa is taking advantage of his position as King by marrying someone who's job is to serve him. It's a power dynamic thing. T'challa's not the kind of guy who would do something like that.

The funny thing about it is that, so what of we did want him to be like that? Batman has his hands all over the DC universe and fits into street level to cosmic stories. And can fit into Every threat and is constantly being lifted by fans saying he can take down the league or how he went against darkseid. It's no problem for Batman to have that title of being able to do damn bear anything with prep time.. yet for T'Challa (who was the prep master before that became Batmans shtick) it's met with hostility and insults of "how dare you want him to be 3 steps ahead!!"

I remember seeing a youtube video, a BP vs bats and the guy in the video said "Batman would lose to T'Challa... But only because he doesn't know him, if he knew who he was bats would win because prep time and batman can beat anybody if he knows them and can prep for them" and it was like, uh.. you know T'Challa does that too right? And given point for point, he will do it better

Because it means he picked a tribe and the king gives them favor.

Keeping all the tribes "in the running" keeps them in line. It gives them all hope.

... No that's still a Coates era arm chair general. T'Challa would be the one making the stuff happen, not delegating the duties to others. That's the issue we have right now.

The reason for the Doras was to keep the tribes happy and from getting batshit crazy. So every tribe is represented by the Doras. If he marries one, the other tribes will rasie hell because he didn't marry one of theirs.

The Dora Milaje were assembled as potential queens for an unmarried king, maintaining the peace in Wakanda by ensuring that every tribe has the opportunity to put forward one of their daughters for the crown. As in wives-in-training for the king of Wakanda. And Waknadan tribes will raise hell no matter what you do because they are a warrior nation. Raising hell is all they know.
