T'Challa: The Black Panther Appreciation 2021

I’m seriously wishing that damn movie was never made now. There’s little point in being invested in this franchise now.

It’s crazy. Feels like every other BP project is about promoting a new character. Coates’ first arc was heavily marketed as a big Dora story, you got the endless stealth minis for side characters, even entire tie-ins focused on revamping side characters. I’m not saying it’s a bad thing but you can tell Marvel REALLY wants BP to be like Milestone or YouNeek and just be this incubator of black characters. It seems they’re willing to throw T’Challa under the bus to do that.

Do they kill T’Challa? Best case scenario they just have him be a full time member of the Avengers. Aaron‘s got a few more years on the title iirc so maybe he’s interested lol.

They straight up said, "this idea didn't work the last time with a much bigger writer, let's try it again when the character sales have been in the 12k range! It will surely work! Just sprinkle some Alex Ross Covers in there"

Correction, they are willing to completely torch the franchise and drove off all it's fans by pulling this **** and not people like Redjack on the book. Is this apart of "Honoring Chad" too?

All i asked for was a mediocre book featuring T'challa and I can't even get that anymore apparently.

This is so stupid though, we literally just went through 6 years of Wakanda on turmoil and T'Challa questioning if he is got to be King, he reluctantly becomes emporer at the end and now his title of King AND BP ate under fire??? Really???

No, because it said a new hero. Assuming this story is what we think it is, the character taking over is gonna be an OC by Ridley. Basically he’s doing with BP what he’s doing over at DC with Jace Batman.

Gentle is appearing on those covers either because someone at the BP office is an X-fan and wanted him there or he’s actually relevant to the plot of that issue.

Mayan references are STRONG and he looks BRUTAL - very Apocalypto with ornate bejeweled neckpiece including pearls, goatee, think gold armbands

Can’t wait for #Marvel to share with everyone #MCU

Because none of these writers wanna actually take T'Challa to the next level, they want to push the same story beats while promoting their "New and exciting" OC who "Doesn't need T'Challa and can stand on their own".. or some other bullisht
