The art is consistent and very good. Priest really borrowed a lot from this run and developed it further. Sucks I can't finish it.
It's very 70's in writing style.

You can tell a lot of the writer's of the era were frustrated novelists.

So they used captions. So they can feel like they are writing at least a novella.

They used captions A LOT. Mcgregor would describe what Tchalla is doing in a caption while we can clearly see what he's doing because there's an artist (Billy Graham in this case, if I remember correctly) who drew the scene. But that wasn't going to stop Mcgregor from getting his novella on.

It's wasn't just him, tho. A bunch of the writers that got big in the 70's did that kind of thing. Mcgregor, Englehart, Steve Gerber. Even Marv WolfMan ( the Teen Titans guy) used that style when he was writing Tomb of Dracula.

At least he only used that style when story called for it.

    The other guys....?

It's ironic that Chris Clairmont was probably the last star writer from that era but he hung on to caption over writing to this day.

If Insomniac isn’t able to do it, would you guys rather a Black Panther game be made by some of Sony’s other studios like Santa Monica (God Of War) or Sucker Punch Productions (Ghosts of Tsushima)?

My knowledge of video game publishers is crap so what else of those studios done?

    But

God of War and the previous ones were far better than GoT.

Ghost was a very pretty game but it was the same thing done 100x before (open world forts) but IMHO, they didn't do it very well in comparision to Spider-Man PS4. It was extremely repetitive.

Sucker Punch worked on Sly Cooper and Infamous. Santa Monica also worked on Twisted Metal.

Yeah, it would have to be a cult for someone to think it's good, lol.

I bet he isn't talking about his "phenomenal" run on Black Panther during his segment.

They will 100% adapt Coates run to stuff....

    But

they will take out all the boring, ethical, talky talky stuff. No game or cartoon is gonna dive into all that stuff. They don't make protagonists that are depressed and do nothing lol.

These people just take the vague comic ideas and twist them into something else entirely.

I mean, take the basics of season 1 if you want. It was a rebellion storyline where Tetu and his sidekick Zenzi wanted to use their powers to end the monarchy/line of bashenga. They use terrorist tactics to cause fear. It ends with a failed attack on the Golden City lead by T'challa nd his ancestors. T'challa is still king. The end lol. That is easy as hell to adapt on a barebones level.

Really the Coates era actually had some great ideas. It’s just that the execution left much to be desired.

I'd adapt Doomwar, leave out Doom, call it something else and keep The Desturi.

IGEW was a great idea in this thread but terrible in the comics. Like I said, hopefully someone can come in and clean this up abit.

The main thing from Coates run that'll likely kept getting adapted will be using the franchise to push other black heroes which they are already doing for Riri. Won't surprise me if future BP movies, shows/spinoffs are used to do the same.
