Hell if that is True, they may as well introduce Kasper into the movies and make him the BP, after finding a BP costume. Play off the mystique that T’Challa may be dead. I dunno. I’m not digging this at all.

I highly doubt this is true but it all sounds like garbage. Except the Atlantis as Lemuria stuff, that should be canon in the comics. And the BP prequel. I've always wanted to see the story of T'Chaka during the 80s for some Cold War espionage. But yea, I expect Shuri to become the next BP or for her to share the mantle with M'Baku. I don't see Marvel going so out of left field that they'd make an entirely new character to fill in T'Challa's shoes.
It depends on the extent to which Fantastic Four would be involved in the plot. If BP2 got turned into a vehicle for them to show up and take down Doctor Doom obviously that would be lambasted. But I honestly wouldn't have an issue with them getting an Easter egg in an end credit scene, like maybe the Future Foundation sends T'Challa a message asking for him to send bright Wakandans to the Baxter building or whatever. It fits with the theme of T'Challa opening up Wakanda, sets up his friendship with Reed, and is a nice inversion/nod to the comics where T'Challa first appeared in Fantastic Four.
I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that this brand new character is going to be Michael B Jordan from an alternate universe in order to erase all his sins and prop him up wakandas new leader.
But we all know how I felt about the first movie and Cooglers choices w Tchalla.
Marvel never edits this franchise in any form of media from unfans wanting brand new ideas fir the mythos. But ill wait and see

I'm going to go out on a limb and say the entire thing is total BS.
I don't think even if this was true, that the new character would be MBJ. The fact it was saying it would be a character from the river or mine tribe. Plus MBJ was supposed to be on the sequel to some capacity so I doubt that he would play double roles.
Plus the multiverse route completely allows for a very explainable recast and different take on T'Challa. Especially since Spiderman is bringing in Tobey and Andrew into it.
It wouldn't make any sense to have killmonger be the new BP.
As for DC. So they're going to bring in John Stewart green lantern then right?

Man, being a Black Panther fan is like eternally walking while trying to carry a heavy ass cross.
I don't want MBJ in BP2 at all, even if it's just for the sake of Coogler making a damn movie without having to cast his ass. Secondly, isn't MBJ preparing to star and direct Creed 3?
Lastly, IF it was Coogler's decision not to recast, then F him.
The only way I’ll accept MBJ in BP2 is for an ancestral plane scene. And if that article is true, then I can see the character being an in name only version of Jakarra. Ugh, between this and Coates things are just a hot mess for Black Panther. It really is.

I believe Coogler also realized the importance of T'Challa to young Black kids as well. Unless otherwise is said, I believe this was mainly a Disney decision. I don't think, no matter how big a director is, that Disney would completely fold and just go with whatever the director wanted for fear of them walking. That's just not how these big companies work.
A multiverse T'Challa would still require a different actor playing T'Challa....which Kevin Feige said they are not going to do.
If they were going to introduce a different T'Challa in any of the sequels in any capacity, then they would just re-cast the main MCU T'Challa with a different actor and cut out the multiverse angle. Feige clearly said they will not recast T'Challa (and he didn't even leave it open for future possibility like saying "We won't recast T'Challa THIS TIME" or "We won't be recasting T'Challa for Black Panther 2".
