What happened? What could possibly be the reason for this? Lord I hope this isn’t one of Marvel’s dumbass synergy moves where they’re going to force the BP book to line up with the movie. Getting worried they’re about to pull a fast one with T’Challa.

Final order cutoff would have either been this weekend or next weekend.

Remember Ridley is also doing another book at Distinguishing Competition starring the remains of 5G and a guy named Jace. That book is starring in August. Any huge boost in sales would have been bigger if it was done then versus November.

If they are trying a Cyborg-where you toss out a black lead book when fewer black lead ones are out. Static would be ending, Icon would be on issue 5, Hardware on 4, Aqualad and Daddy would be on issue 3, Shilo on 4 or 6, Miles is still around, who knows about Green Lantern because issue 6 would be September and most black indys would be ending or going on breaks.

Then we have Black Panther 200. Which would be the Miles Morales appearance.

An oversized Black Panther 200 in January which is a lull in big books anyway does open up a higher chance of bigger sales.

I would be more concerned if those summaries change between now and November or another delay to get Black Panther #3 (AKA 200) out for Black History Month.

I'm surprised they didn't plan out BP 200 to hit on black history month. Though I guess I could see then attempting it as the date gets closer. Though that would probably do more harm then good considering the book was just delayed 3 months.

At this point, I wish that Cates, Ewing, or hell even Aaron were given BP to write. Editor won't be playing this type stuff for the most part. The elements are typically put into place for any top writer to hit the ground running with minimal interference.

If anything, the movie should mirror the book, not the other way around.

They have an OSCAR winning writer-who is probably taking LESS money to write a comic book starring the guy who is now the top grossing solo hero.

Everyone else is beneath HIM-he is where THEY want to be. Very few characters are getting guys outside the industry with skins on the wall.

Panther is on his third. Their names alone get this book way more attention than any Marvel PR. Even as bad as Coates was.

The LAST person behind Aaron, Cates, Ewing, Hickman, Johns and Bendis to play these games is Ridley.


I still think Black Panther 200 is more of the reason than anything else.

And I guess Black Panther #2 variant celebrating Miles is now a number 1?
