Kinda funny considering in the announcement to not recast, Feige said the second film was gonna explore “the rich subcultures” of Wakanda. Now how are they gonna do that when Atlantis is being thrown into the mix?

It's not hard to imagine a situation where Marvel let's T'Challa sit for a movie or two and then just bring him back for a new trilogy. That's like 7-10 years after Boseman's passing and after several films with BP Shuri.

There'd be a lot less opposition to a recast via the multiverse, IGEW, or KoTD. It'd be a powerful marketing tool to position BP4 as the return of T'Challa and it'd bring back a major character, likely with a popular upcoming actor. You'd probably have a different director (I don't think Coogler will make more than 3 BP movies and 1-2 spin-offs) and most of the original supporting cast will probably not be present to influence the decision.

IDK, I have a sliver of hope until proven otherwise, Feige left enough room open for a recast to happen down the line because he never explicitly said they were never recasting or even that they'd only not recast for BP2. It seems like they're looking to see how BP2 performs and then they'll see how the audience and overall story of the MCU evolves.

Unless they have some massive bias against the character (and I don't think they do), there's nothing stopping them from bringing back the character when Boseman's passing feels less raw. Story-wise it's not hard to do. But I do think it'll be a wait and there's still a very good possibility we don't see T'Challa until we get a reboot in 15-20 years.

Assuming the MCU lasts that long. Eventually people will be sick of superhero movies, like Westerns, something else will rise up and be the "hot" genre

To be fair, at the moment there's nothing to drive excitement outside of a title card. I think people in the wake of Chadwick's death are in wait and see mode. Once there's something like a poster, set leak of Namor.etc out, people will start buzzing again either positively or negatively.

Honestly, how much of Wakanda is there to explore? While it has a lot of stuff in the comics, can it fill up a movie and a D+ show?

None of the cast seems excited. Coogler doesn't seem excited. Feige is trying.

It just feels like a movie they "have" to do. which is why they should have pushed it back.

I mean... ****... Thor 4 comes out 3 months prior to BP2... yet we know cast list, know the villain, seen social media pictures of jacked Hemsworth jacked Porter, and I think it is done filming and in post production right?

Yet BP comes out 3 months after that and they are... just starting to film??

Feige gotta spare me the We gotta honor Chad by killing T'Challa on screen spin. Just come out (and I know he's afraid of backlash) and say Namor will be introducing the first mutant and it will change the MCU that way.

Im just playing the movie in my head and the first half of the movie is going to be kind of boring if we're figuring who is the BP. They can say what they want, but there is movie you write, the movie you shoot and the movie you edit. If we gotta go through the death, a hero discovering their worthiness, yada yada. She goes to this place with lke water and stuff with all of Wakanda watching. Some priest dude says this is the chance to earn the throne! Someone comes in unexpectedly, we will say from the Border Tribe! They fight! Shuri Wins! They chant "Shuri! Shuri!"

She goes and takes the HSH becaues she remade it. She goes to the Djalia and sees her brother and dad! She says she isn't ready for the throne! They say "you were born ready girl!"

There are reports of Vibranium in Antartica. Shuri decides she needs to investigate. Some old tribal lady says, "naw stay and be queen!" Shuri goes "naw its cool, i'll take Okoye nad Nakia with me! I made some cool new gadgets and ****!" They get their and end up having to fight Atlanteans! Shuri shows off her new stuff! Okoye throws a wig because that woudl be funny!

They interrogate one of the atlanteans. And then **** his the fan when another atlantean shows up. He punches a whole in the building, takes the captured Atlantean, Shuri chases afterwards and gets punched and knocked by 10 feet by one of them shouting IMPERIOUS REX! Shuri knows she's heard that saying before, adn he goes back to her lab to check the Wakandan database. Oh no, that was said long ago by a branch of the River Tribe that disappeared a century ago! What could this mean!?

Suddenly, Namor shows up in Wakanda! He is escorted in by the River Tribe! He demands to fight Shuri for the crown, because... dun dun dun! He is a long lost descendent of the ancient River Tribe! What a Twist! Shuri agrees to protect the honor of the Panther Tribe!

Namor lets Shuri keep her powers to make it fair! They fight in the pound but... oh no! Namor has been training his whole life for this! The water increases his powers and... oh no! Shuri gets yeeted over the waterfall ! OH no, what a twist! Namor is king! Namor goes to the HSH room, he don't need that ****, so he says, "FLOOD IT ALL!" after choking some old lady. He says the outside world has treated the oceans wrong for too long! and with Wakanda and Atlantis tech, it is time to fight back!

Ramonda and Nakia cry some more and go back to the river tribe to hide. And they find shuris body! the BP powers kept her alive! Shuri is like, get me to my lab! and she puts on her new iron man looking BP armor! She goes to say... Mbaku to find an army !

Namor brings in his atlantis bodies to go over battle plans. Then Shuri appears and says "As you can see I am not dead!" Okoye is like, "the black panther lives! she is queen!" NAmor is like "naw bro" Oh snaps, fight time! Namor is about to kill say... Nakia and Shuri gets there just in time and flies him into a field! They fight!

The sun is draining Namors powers... right before Namor is about to finish off Shuri, she does a fancy movie and stabs him! Namor is like "yo good move!" Shuri is sad! Shes like "we cna heal you long lost cuz" Namor is pisse,d he goes "imperious rex, bury me in the ocean with my fam!"

Its sad cause I can see about 70% of this happening. Reviews: BPWF really fun, but does more of the same as the 1st movie.

Coogler and Fiege have an easy out if the film is bad. I think audiences will be sympathetic given the circumstances the film was made in.

I don't think so, I honestly think by the time it comes out internet memory will have kicked in and people aren't going to excuse it. Of anything they will start saying they should of waited or recast, or worse they will blame it on a black cast and the first was just luck. Which again, reinforces why they should of waited. Nothing about this movie drives hype or excitement. Just foreboding
