T'Challa: The Black Panther Appreciation 2021

Isn't it confirmed they're recasting the Inhuman Royal Family for the Ms. Marvel show? I wouldn't be surprised if Marvel takes them out of limbo in the next few years, which would hopefully make team-ups between them and T'Challa much easier. With all the times he and Black Bolt have worked together you'd think there was an ancient alliance between their kingdoms...

But working with the Eternals would be dope too. Ancient wars with the Deviants, the mysterious of the Great Cataclysm, Eternals becoming gods to secretive Wakandan cults, there's lots of storytelling potential. Hell, maybe T'Challa's new love interest could be an Eternal lol.



I like that idea a lot. K'un L'un pops up all over the Earth, it'd be cool to find out a Wakandan artifact holding the White Tiger God made it there. Opens up a bunch of interesting stories there. Another idea I had was to tie the gods together by revealing that their avatars (BP and White Tiger) worked together back in the medieval era. In the 1400's you had these Chinese treasure voyages under the Ming dynasty that took trading ships as far as the East African Swahili city-states.

I'd have it so that the White Tiger of that era was on board those ships as some kind of mercenary, got stranded on the coast of East Africa and forced by an evil sorcerer-king to help invade Wakanda. After teaming up with the reigning BP to defeat the ancient evil, the king/queen allows the White Tiger to set up a cult in Wakanda, which starts an alliance between the White Tiger and Panther Gods.

A Tiger cult would be very cool

We need the leaders of every cult in Wakanda properly defined, powered, and given a purpose.

This is not my opinion just a question. Would we rather he try to world build (ala Coats) and explore wakandan history?

I want Ridley to generally focus more on superhero espionage and geopolitics. But I still think he should carve out arcs here and there that center mostly around internal Wakanda stuff and do some worldbuilding. There’s a way to do that without following the Coates model of 15+ characters struggling for panel time, boring exposition, and massive retcons to Wakandan lore.

There’s even a way to bridge the gap between Wakanda-based stuff and globetrotting adventure if you get creative like Priest and Hudlin. They managed to have several stories that had elements of Wakanda worldbuilding/politics but still keeping the story global in scope and developing the kingdom’s relationship with the outside world. Ridley shouldn’t feel the need to never have T’Challa in Wakanda but he also shouldn’t feel the need to never have him leave. It’s a balancing act, but I think he could do it.

Well Coogler isnt infallible. Space Jam 2 reviews are terrible. Not sure getting Malcolm D. Lee for something like this was wise. Kinda out of his wheelhouse.

All that time producing a flop could have been spent towards getting BP2 out earlier.

The first space jam received bad reviews..

To quote one reviewer-20 minutes in and the reviewer heard kids BEGGING to go home. And it was noting but an IP showcase.

I don't think Lee was the issue nor Coolger-this falls on the star of that movie-Lebron. Nobody is buying those toys and his acting as one person puts it is a turnoff.

Honestly I think Happy pants would make an excellent villain. He takes the whole underestimating him to a whole new level. Ontop of he is an older more experienced panther as well and knows how T'Challa thinks and can read minds?

I’m still going to pay to see it. I laugh at people who criticize Lebron. Because when he’s gone they’re going to wish he was still here. And I think Lebron always taking the high road will greatly benefit his legacy in the long run. When I have a bigger voice than I have now, I will continue to give him praise.

GOD OF WAR Star Christopher Judge Is The Voice Of Black Panther In MARVEL'S AVENGERS Expansion

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Judge admitted that he had originally turned down the role. "There's many Black Panthers, but I really didn't believe that anyone should ever do T'Challa again [after Boseman]," Judge explained. "The actual talks proceeded and, basically, I wound up doing it because my mother and my children said if I didn't do it, they would disown me."

Judge admitted that he was "fearful of being compared to what Chadwick had so wonderfully done. The only way I could really wrap my head around it was to not even attempt a voice match, to let my performance stand on its own. I put all that into it and hopefully people like it."

This is weird but this just puts the nail in the coffin of T'challa ever coming back to me. A damn VOICE ACTOR didn't want to do it because he thought T'challa should be written out forever?

Games over folks. I guess I never realized how much people care about actors and connected with them. I just don't have that gene in me I guess.
