How is this at all a **** up on Marvel's part? Chadwick died. The comics and the MCU both set precedence for the mantle passing to Shuri in this instance. People really need to get over it. For those who are clamoring for a super genius straight black male self-insert character to justify their fandom, Blue Marvel is right there. There should be more of a push to adapt him into the MCU rather than shitting all over the future of MCU BP/Wakanda because T'Challa is no longer around.

And Monet is right there too. Nobody is telling Monet fans who are clamoring for her to do more that there is Shuri, Riri, Moon Girl & Naomi. Who have more books than Monet.
Shuri has 6 new novels and OGN coming out between now and July. Riri, Naomi & Moon Girl have tv shows.

Imagine coming into to a Monet topic and telling the ppl there to go be fans of Storm, Shuri, Naomi, Moon Girl or Riri and instead.

I will suspect it makes sense now.

What's not clicking? It's getting weird, y'all are looking for any reason to dismiss this movie before you've even seen a second of footage, let alone a plot synopsis. It's getting weird and misogynistic.

Shuri being a woman has NEVER been the issue. What the film has established says she can't be Black Panther in her current state and no Rocky montage or Gummi Berry Juice or the black girl magic is going to get her ready. It took T'Challa 10 years.

Now if this movie has her REJECT wearing the suit and being herself to defend Wakanda-fine. Because everywhere else is building up Shuri was HERSELF.

The issue here is tossing away T'Challa with a no-recast. When that was NOT done with others. Into the Spiderverse made sure we got a PETER PARKER. We got 2 of them alive.


As for the comics-

Shuri would be UNWORTHY as she was the STEP-SISTER and not of Wakandan blood. Folks forget her Mom was wifey number to to T'Challa's Dad.

Speaking of Star-Challa, let us be thankful that the makers of what if didn’t completely rule out continuing with the idea of giving him his own spin off. And since it’s animation you can get away with another guy playing T’Challa. Heck I’ve seen one guy named Arif Zahir (Azerrz) that can do a spot on impression of T’Chadwick.

Thats retcon. AND we need to BUILD up to that. I own a comic book store. Fortress of Solitude 53 University ave Newark NJ. There are thousands of T'challa stories that should be told BEFORE getting to Shuris'.

Well, they don't have any other big budget movies with Black superheroes and that's part of the problem. I think we get Sam for the 4th Cap film(will they do the Jane Foster-Thor/Sam Wilson-Cap romance? Doubt it).

Honestly race/gender bending is such a lazy way to create diversity. Like, why not actually bring these Black characters/poc characters to the big screen? Things like the talk of echo, they are going to use that character instead of taking someone like widow and race bending her to native American then going "Look! We are being diverse!"

The GOTG game got nominated for a lot of awards, sadly it fell short of a game of the year nomination. Hopefully a game starring our king will get that kind of recognition one day.

You can criticize the man's work, his vision, his output. Just saying thats still a man.

I really liked what he did. However, I dont believe he intentionally wanted to let down people here who dont like it.

He put his art out there. So his art can be subjected to criticism. But again its the art.
