I know its been posted before but this really is a the perfect inbetween for a WW costume imo
Hmm, I've seen it posted before but can't say I'm really a fan. Just doesn't click for me.
For me, it always annoys me when we see majority of the Amazons being covered so much but then they have this one special piece of "armor" that doesnt.
I would prefer for her to have a normal skirt, but I love the rest. The way the top is put together is quite dynamic and makes sure we don't get more of those gratuitous Jim Lee drawings where her chest almost spills out.
I also love the hair (but I love lota of other hairstyles on her too) and the gauntlets. This was the design that sold me on her sleeves. I still like it without the sleeves, but it's a pretty great addition. Not a big fan of the shoulder armor though, and I think I prefer her without the pants, simply because it makes her feel more like an adventurer.

Well, the idea of "Amazons" being taller, etc i think goes back to the villainization of the group in history. Much the way Amazons were have to burned off a breast for purposes of improving archery ( though no representation of Amazons in art show this) Basically, clearly they have to be bigger, more masculine, etc for them to be such a threat. They get these atrributes layed upon them to make men feel better about being bested by the Amazons (again, we are talking historically). Because clearly a woman can't be a threat without obtaining or wanting to have more masculine attributes, or in the case of mutilating themselves, they mustbhate their outward feminine attributes.
Also, the DC Amazons are not those of Mythology. They are their own thing. And the closer we seem to move them towards the incorrwct versions of those in myth, the more they seem to lose.
We have characters established as bulkier, body builder types in the DC universe. Diana doesn't need to fall into that stereotype.
And re: body types that signify strength, Superman's body doesn't reflect the level of stregth he is able to exert. It's sci fi. Yes, he's well built, but not ridiculously so. His power is more scientific in nature.
Diana is similar. Her powers are Gods given. She doesn't have to be bulky. She could be like Olive Oyl and it wouldn't matter. And if you go back to the Golden Age, the stregth wasn't based on muscle mass, but in harnessing mental energy and focussing it into their muscles.
