While I love the Clint and Kate dynamic, I just hate that modern Clint's relationships have been narrowed down to just him and Kate. The Marvel Avengers game being a strong example of that. At least he's in Thompson's Black Widow. Hopefully we'll see him tag-team with Bucky again. Though it's been long since he acted as part of a group.

Written by Lemire again to spite me specifically.
That might happen since a recent adaptation of Lemire's Sweet Tooth was highly successful lol

Hawkeye is now a C list character, loved it when he was one of the main characters on the Avengers and then the Thunderbolts.
I am a Marvel fan preferably cosmic storylines, especially Thanos or Dark Phoenix related, when both the Avengers and the X-Men are involved count me in, loved the original Uncanny Avengers series.
Not a fan of any of the new characters.

I agreed let's pray that Marvel will see him the potential of the character by placing back on the Avengers.

I'm personally completely over the Clint/Kate dynamic so I'd be more than happy with a Clint solo comic that wrote him well, but that's probably not in the cards.

I think I'm the only one who doesn't want a new solo book for him, but I also don't want him back with Kate unless it's just a mini to go with the show. I really want him back on a team book with some of the old guard. It seems lately he's either with Kate or Bucky; he can't even show up in Natasha's book without Bucky in tow. Has he had any real meaningful interactions with Steve since Secret Empire? There's probably a whole list of characters he had interesting relationships with that he has barely interacted with for well over a decade at this point. I think a team book would really serve him so much better than a solo now so he could build up some good relationships again. But then I've always preferred team books because it's the character interactions I'm most interested in.

It kind of depends on what they'd want to do with a solo book.
I'm dying to find out what Rosenberg had planned for him after Freefall, I'm dying to see him doing some classic superheroics again but I'm also dying for him to hang with some old friends. As sneaky says he's been isolated as hell all things considered.
At the same time: his roles in new avengers (Ewing) or Avengers no surrender/(insert partner event here) weren't exactly of much substance either.

Ideally I'd like a team book with a small roster where you can't include anyone just to make them an afterthought.

I guess ultimately I want him depicted competently and heroically again and not just a guy who gets no respects and falls flat on his face.

That's a big reason why I don't want Rosenberg touching him again, 'cause I hated how most of his "friends" treated him. So while I ultimately am interested in how Freefall ended and what the futurer plans were, I also wasn't sad it ended. Too much of it rubbed me the wrong way.

I agree with Matt about the small roster. I still absolutely love Kot's Secret Avengers. It started out too "Hawkguy", but then flipped the script with Maria calling Clint out for putting on the 'dumb' act, and overall it was just an over the top fun book with a lot of heart, and a small roster so all of the characters got decent page time and plot. A team book with half a dozen characters that have some good connections to draw from would be ideal for me.

I actually thought Rosenberg too played around with Clint playing dumb but I suppose it would have been nice if one or two of his friends would have seen through it. (The closest we got was Natasha figuring out Ronin's identity I suppose)

All this depressing talk makes me sad about Clint's current characterization in the comics.

I enjoyed the way Rosenberg handled him but I guess I'm in the minority here.

I think Rosenberg's work is, in general, more depressing than I would prefer, but at least he acknowledged many of Clint's friendships outside of Kate (even though I wish they would bring back his friendships with people like Jen, Janet, and Wanda). He's probably my favorite of the Clint writers since Ewing wrote him in New Avengers.

Nah, I liked it too for the most part!
    I'll always have some nitpicks.

For that matter I also enjoyed most of his appearances under Thompson.
From his supportive appearances in Black Widow over playing the "straight man" in West Coast Avengers to the excellence that was oldschool Clint in Generations.

Nah, you're fine! If anything I'm in the minority for not having enjoyed Freefall. It was a popular run with a lot of people. There were parts of it I liked, but unfortunately for me the parts I didn't like outweighed them, which I found especially disappointing since I did really like how Rosenberg wrote Clint in Tales of Suspense.

I also have enjoyed how Kelly Thompson has written Clint so far as well, and he's supposed to be back in the next arc of Black Widow so there's that coming up at least. And I really love Elena's art but man I wish artists lately remembered Clint is a tall boy lol. He should be so much taller than both Natasha and Bucky.

Looks like Kate is getting a new series.

Creator favoritism or Clint will get something announced in the next few days (I'm not confident on that one though).

I'd be very depressed if Clint doesnt have a new solo.
