Default Hippolyta in the JLA: worth reading?

I haven't been reading JLA since Bendis took over (not b/c it's Bendis; I've just had to tighten my budget); is anyone on this forum reading it, and if so, does Hippolyta have any shining moments? Is it worth picking up the trades as they come out?

I'm also curious about her future in the league. I just read that the upcoming annual will be "the return of Wonder Woman" right before Bendis exits. I'm guessing that it's unlikely that JLA will have both Hippolyta and Diana on the team, and since Hippolyta is no longer queen she'll be...?

no, not worth reading, neither because of the story nor because of Hyppolyta.
She is characterized as a brute woman who just wants to hit people. sadly pathetic.
the only thing that is worth it is for the back up of JLD

If you want a Hippolyta fix, I'd say just read Historia #1.

I'm predicting Hippolyta's future will be the obligatory Event casualty in Trial of the Amazons with Diana going back to the JL and, presumably, Nubia will still be Queen of the Amazons.

Hippolta's appearances in Bendis' Justice League have been glorified cameos at best. She really hasn't said or done much of anything integral. She seems like a place-holder for Diana without living up to her full potential.
Currently(or soon to be) Reading: Alan Scott: Green Lantern, Batman/Superman: World's Finest, Fire & Ice: Welcome to Smallville, Green Arrow, Green Lantern, Jay Garrick: The Flash, Justice Society of America, Power Girl, Superman, Shazam, Titans, Wesley Dodds: Sandman, Wonder Woman, & World's Finest: Teen Titans.

Morrison finished his run on text book excellent run on JLA, with Hippolyta under the tiara, and she wasn't so bad, there. She had some cool moments.

Nubia will still be Queen of the Amazons? Ye gods, let's hope not!

Nubia could be such a cool character, if her writers wrote from the organic potential of what's there and stopped trying to make her into something else.

    Bruh.

I downloaded JLA specifically for Hippolyte and the royal looking outfit. However the writing has been very strange. Almost the entire roster are voiceless generic word balloon anchors. Except maybe Black Adam who appears to be shifting into full-on hero/atonement mode and Naomi.

There does seem to be potential as Black Adam and Hippolyte appear to be very familiar with one another and there are hints that there is some rich history.

    But that is about it.

What exactly do you think are the interesting things about her that the writers are ignoring?
