The risk you set with this is you make AEW and whatever Ring of Honor will be more attractive.

WWE does not find and promote Superstars anymore.

WWE simply lists “Superstars” as a business commodity that interchangeable bodies can be labeled as.

In other news… if ROH does want to reopen for business… there’s now a flood of people on the marketplace they almost *should* pick up just for the health of the industry.
Like action, adventure, rogues, and outlaws? Like anti-heroes, femme fatales, mysteries and thrillers?

I wrote a book with them. Outlaw’s Shadow: A Sherwood Noir. Robin Hood’s evil counterpart, Guy of Gisbourne, is the main character. Feel free to give it a look: https://read.amazon.com/kp/embed?asi...E2PKBNJFH76GQP

To get over Doudrop? She was a waste the first time she was in WWE. A few surprises - Keith Lee (due to recent promo's and adding Bearcat to his name), Kross (even though he was buried in a Demolition ripoff), and B- Fab due to the fact Hit Row just got called up. Sadly Baron Corbin still has a job.

Apparently some of the talent that got released today is because they are not vaccinated

Nia Jax was released for this reason

Why didn’t they want to get vaccinated??

This is something I legit don’t understand.

These guys are professional athletes that are injected with all manner of chemicals and they suddenly balk at being vaccinated?

Anyone dumb enough to take such a stance deserves to lose their job. Particularly when said job involves close physical contact with others.

Basically this system is how the company landed Cena and Batista. They want that approach again to get that next type of Cena or Batista to build and have for a decade or 2.

Wow....they would have kept Nia Jax in the company still had she just gotten vaccinated. WOW....

Karrion Kross and Scarlett are almost certainly two other talents fired for not vaccinating

SRS specifically was hinting about Kross and Scarlett about not being vaxxed as two of the reasons why.

Basically you just have to cross reference the list with whoever was not on the most recent Europe tour. (or in the UK now). You have to be vaxxed to enter Europe.

We already know NXT has new rules now.

1- No one over 30 will be signed.

2- No more indie stars will be brought in.

3- The company will now push a youth direction with people signed who aren't pro wrestlers. They will look to develop new stars in WWE system from ground up like say a former college football player coming in and going from there.

They have to clear the decks of talents they aren't high on and get the next people set more or less.
As for WWE being sold....that is happening. Its not just wrestlers being released. its also backstage workers and office employees. Multiple changes to departments are being made, such as departments being combined or removed altogether.

In addition around the time that this all started was when Nick Khan was brought in. Nick Khan is known for being brought in to get companies ready to be sold. Everything he has done is what is typically done to a company to make it more appealing for a buyer. reduce cost and increase profits.

Fact is, WWE is being put up for sale

Dax Harwood's twitter reaction to the WWE cuts: "Independent Contractors. What a thing…" "I wish WCW would've won"

I understand his sentiment and I'm sure I have dared to think it myself at times, but greedy WCW would have ended up just much like WWE, or even worse, had it won the Monday Night Wars (and put Vince out of business). WCW proved it by its mismanagement and incompetence (Vince Russo, not promoting talent, wrestlers leaving, curtain jerkers, etc).

I only wish WCW didn't fold, didn't end, that's I think the only way it could've ended up similar to an AEW (as a contrast to WWE) if it was still around in 2021.

Grant Morrison: “Adults...struggle desperately with fiction, demanding constantly that it conform to the rules of everyday life. Adults foolishly demand to know how Superman can possibly fly, or how Batman can possibly run a multibillion-dollar business empire during the day and fight crime at night, when the answer is obvious even to the smallest child: because it's not real.”

If WCW won, I'm confident that mainstream wrestling as we know it would have won.

Wrestling now is at it's biggest boom since we were all kids. More talented people than ever and there's tons of kids who are growing up now--and working for WWE won't be their dream job!

Except these cuts began in 2020 and started with this move as they cut front office staff ...

Yes Nick Khan has said Vince is open to a sale but we have to be serious ...Vince has said that a number of years at times. No one believes he'll actually sell the company because its considered his life and been that for years.

The front office and talent cuts since 2020 (when they began as article details) leads into this...

    - The costs of losing Wrestlemania at live attendance had the company release talents and front office staff who weren't there. The article makes a point that losing that Wrestlemania then likely had the company eat a few million dollars.

    - As the company prepared to tour again costs had to be cut. Live touring and coming back is gonna be hard. A fact that Smackdown is struggling selling tickets right now. So the company had to make moves. They decided its easier to cut behind the scenes staff and go leaner. A fact back in the 1990's Vince would hire front office people and as Jim Cornette joked a number would be fired soon after as they really weren't needed. (one he joked believed the WWE was like the NFL and she was fired within a year after Vince thought she would be a great hire)

    - Then after those cuts the company saw a lot of talents that they knew were making huge salaries and Vince had given $$$ to due to AEW launching and the business before hand running big before pandemic. Braun Strowman was making an insane salary (over $1+ million a year) and numerous others were getting big pay. A few as we have learned like Bryan Danielson and Adam Cole were screw ups with front office. Danielson wanted to work Japan dates and was refused that by WWE . Cole's contract expired as the company had no clue. Bray Wyatt was let go because he clashed with WWE creative over The Fiend direction.

But many talents were A: Not being Used on TV , B : Not being used right and its best to move on , C: Not getting vaccinated as we saw with latest cuts.

But thus far the company seems to be making the cuts to create a new NXT with the old mind set , going leaner behind the scenes due to coming back from Pandemic and a process they began in 2020 and just not hoarding up talent as they did in mid 2010's as they seemed intent on raiding EVERY company in a repeat of 1980's. Now they are refocusing as they seem to have hit the button on....what did us raiding all that indie talent actually get us ? Beyond AJ Styles , Finn Balor , Rollins and a few others we didn't nail a lot of these. (EC3 , Kloss , Adam Cole , etc)

With Adam Cole, this lead to Vince supposedly not being happy there were a bunch of NXT talents who were content to just stay at NXT and had no desire to move up to the main roster ever. The reason being that NXT isn't really a profitable show and the slot can be better used to showcase up and coming stars who do want to me on the main roster. (Like you mentioned) We'll have to see what happens to the ones we thought were NXT lifers like Gargano and Ciampa and see if they get released or not re-signed.

WWE still has a roster of over 200 wrestlers, that's still a lot. At least to me, the criticism is on them for hoarding talent trying to sabotage AEW (but you really can never hoard all the talent) And then giving a bs reason "budget cuts" for releasing people.

I do think having some roster churn is ok, like it is to refresh your cast for any TV show. But if they weren't hoarding talent, they wouldn't need to fire 71 people and counting. Every talent you fire is someone's favorite and someone who probably won't come back.

And if they had listened to Jesse Ventura instead of listening to Hulk Hogan years ago, they would be unionized now. The mass firings might still have happened, but they would have been compensated for it.

All of the restructuring that is being done is what is done before a sale. Nick Khan is known for being the go to guy to get companies ready to sell
