A lot can be said about the WWE schedule and how some were happy with the way they did 2020/2021 at going to a location and filming RAW and Smackdown etc. Well as I watched a Gerald Brisco interview he brings up how insane the 1980's WWF schedule was. And why it led to Jack Brisco (his brother) quitting one day.

    - Gerald brings up this schedule of 80 days on , then some days off and then 100 back on ! It was a wild schedule of one day being in Madison Square Garden one day , then flying to Portland , then back to ...(ok you get it). Well at 41 Jack Brisco was tired of it. That he grew tired of the living in a motel room and suitcase. So one day before taking another flight he told his brother he was going home. That he was done and he did just that.

    - Jack never wrestled again. In an old interview from 1997 I believe he details he was 41 and wanted to retire. That this schedule was as intense as the schedule he was on back as NWA World Champion. Now he was older.

    - A popular story that has grown over the years is the Brisco's when they sold their majority stake to Vince McMahon were promised lifetime jobs. Both brothers refuted this. Jack in his interview claims they were just promised money and that was it. Gerald claims the same deal.

Yes, it was. Such a substantive product (great wrestling, great feuds). Those were golden days for me and I eventually stopped watching WWE because that period ended.
Was Paul Heyman's Era Of Smackdown The Best In WWE History?
    ...
The match quality of Smackdown became its calling card with some of the best action in WWE history. A main event core of Brock Lesnar, Eddie Guerrero, Chris Benoit, Kurt Angle and others of that caliber was going to ensure that Smackdown thrived in that department. Heyman also liked to give his talent the freedom to perform at the best of their abilities.
    ...
WWE gave Heyman the confidence to pick names he believed could take the steps needed to become bigger stars. The Smackdown Six showed the formula for the show benefiting in the short and long term. Smackdown peaked under Heyman and is unlikely to ever reach that level of success again unless things drastically change.

Things I love: Batman, Superman, AEW, old films, Lovecraft

Grant Morrison: “Adults...struggle desperately with fiction, demanding constantly that it conform to the rules of everyday life. Adults foolishly demand to know how Superman can possibly fly, or how Batman can possibly run a multibillion-dollar business empire during the day and fight crime at night, when the answer is obvious even to the smallest child: because it's not real.”

She was trained by Booker T. If she was going anywhere, it would be WWE. She already has a foot in the door.

    I understand.

Still want her to go somewhere that she'll be used well.

What happened after the Gunn Club/Sting & Darby feud though ? Sure its a nice program there a couple weeks and then the Gunn Club seems to be back in spot. You have 12-14 tag teams currently in AEW. Not everyone is gonna get a push on TV or used as much as this example shows us. If your high on someone (and AEW seems high on Pillman Jr. as much as Jim Ross bragged him on commentary and he got a brief MJF spot a couple months ago) its best to push them and end an under-card tag team that is...just there.

The whole Austin Theory selfie gimmick is pretty stupid, IMO.

They seem to be booking Lashley as the next big thing. Bobby, Bianca and Becky seem to be the needle movers on Raw.

Beating three top contenders on one night is an underdog face move not a monster heel one. Can MVP and Lashley work face or will they remain heels?

Yeah, the last guy who had a selfie gimmick was Tyler Breeze. Is he still in NXT?

They shipped him back in 2020 IIRC.

Then released him back in June.

Keeping people at "levels" in a company with no change is what killed Bischoff and WCW. He believed certain guys couldn't move up the card and wouldn't do it even if proposed storylines were kinda cool to think about. Instead they were kept in spots and fans grew bored of it. When he tried to pay Jericho a huge amount to stay in his current spot that should tell you that keeping talent locked in spots fails at a certain point.

Brian Pillman Jr has the look and already has teased a solo run. He also has the name and makes the most sense to turn heel for a solo run really.
nobody says they have to remain in that role forever. why not give them an actual push before splitting them up??

they don't pay so well after they release the talent.
