My my, I think there should be more Jon appreciation in his appreciation thread

The hype around the announcement is crazy, and DC was smart to use Taylor’s goodwill to win fans over. I’ve already seen many people comment “I dislike aged up Jon but Tom Taylor will probably make me like him”. For sure I thought he would be spammed with cries of “de-age Jon!” the way Superman social media has been plagued lately, so this is a good step forward. Now we just have to wait for the actual book to come out.

Nice to see Timms on art. Between him, Phil Hester, and Scott Godlewski, it seems deliberate that Jon’s stories have a animated/cartoony style to compliment his more energetic and youthful personality, while Clark has a classic, realistic art style.

Yeah, that was a really good decision on DC's part. I am happily surprised to not see to many de-age him comments yesterday. They couldn't stop spamming tweets to the current writer, Phillip-Kennedy johnson,about de-aging so I matter it's only a matter of time for that to happen to Tom.

Each of the variants for Son of Kal-El show Jon at different stages of his life, and in the black and white cover he looks like he’s in his Future State outfit so I’m hoping we might get it.

I don't think so.Jon always had manga fan.They can easily rationalise it.The kid had goku and naruto wallpaper.

The thing I keep coming back to is the question: what’s the end-game with this? Like what’s the point of introducing Jon as a kid (something that a whole lot of people love, especially his friendship with Damian), only to rip it away in a rushed storyline and then make him the Superman of Earth.

I also thought about instead of giving him a cape, make the cape part a sort of coat that goes to his knees but I don’t think they’d do that either
