Ok thanks. I don't quite see how Jon's postitions were clear in Superman of Metropolis. I mean yeah he opposed the military, but it's not like conservatives haven't done that too in situations as dramatic as those Jon was facing.
Anyway, I think Clark's worldview is a lot more complex than just "conservative". I think he wants to empower the individual so he can have control over his own life, but I think he sees a lot of nuance in that, and has no particular barrier as to how much he himself, or the government, should participate in the "empowering" part. I think he would be pro choice, but he would also be used to traditional family values and would have a certain bias towards perpetuating them. Ironically he would marry one of the least traditional women there is, and love that about her.
You've kind of bended my view on Jon to the point where I can accept that he would be more individualistic, and yet less inclined to those traditional family values Clark probably aspires to.
