"I commissioned the great Chuck Patton to create this piece for me a couple of years ago before this COVID nightmare we call a world engulfed us. This week Chuck surprised me with a gorgeous set of pencils. The legendary Romeo Tanghal Sr. who was ChuckÂ’s inker on Justice League of America and Tales of The Teen Titans in the 1980s was happy to embellish Chuck once more. The Conway/Patton/Tanghal JLA of the early 80s is one of my favourite runs. Thanks gentlemen. As Chuck would say. Much obliged 😊"

I grew up during the New 52, so I was pushed Supes and Wondy a lot. I knew Lois was supposed to be his girlfriend from every adult in my vicinity, though, who grew up with the Pre-52 lore. When I got into DC fully, I found Batman and Wonder Woman was the real ship, but I shipped Batman and Catwoman anyway (because of Scribblenauts.)

I'm curious as to what lead you to this conclusion. If we're talking comics only.

Justice League #12 Put The New 52 Superman And Wonder Woman Into A Relationship

The New 52 brought a lot of change to the Man of Steel and one of them changed something that had been around since the beginning. For years, it was always Superman and Lois but in the New 52, starting with Geoff Johns and Jim Lee's Justice League #12, it was Superman and Wonder Woman. This was a massive change from before, as the two characters had never been anything more than friends in previous continuities.

The two became one of DC's most powerful couples, staying together for the remainder of the New 52, even getting a co-starring series. While it was certainly a bizarre change for some fans, it made sense in the context of the stories being told.

It’s still amazing how this image has become so popular and basically used as an official image with promotional use as we’ve seen I think in a movie theater in India? This continues to show the waste of potential and opportunity had with DCEU. Hopefully it changes but IDK…

I absolutely adore the caption of the first because that’s exactly what Superman and Wonder Woman represent. They are the mother and father of superheroes and kids grew up to see their parents as Superman and Wonder Woman. It’s always so heartwarming when individuals have such an emotional connection to Superman and Wonder Woman as individual characters and as a couple.

Also let’s put emphasis on how general people see SMWW “matching” as a positive and meaningful other than folks trying to belittle it and make it seem superficial and shallow when it’s not. Especially when the same idea of “matching” is used for other couples to fit a narrative.

The second image is just so dramatic LOL like a sappy old school romance movie.

I did wonder why Ariana Grande of all people has to be this, lol. Checking the account, it has a series of Fortnite videos featuring the singer. Still weird seeing her with SM/WW. 😂

I’m loving the goofiness of these fan fortnite videos! As I said before, it’s so much more entertaining than current DC as well as making them so much fun staying in character.

Superman/Wonder Woman can reach an wider/diverse audience with ease as we’ve seen time and time again be it official or custom. It’s mind boggling how DC refuses to capitalize on something that’s actually guaranteed.
