I don’t agree either, but Superman is portrayed that way and it’s double down on with the Superdad concept. He is an old man, man of yesterday but that’s not who Superman is suppose to be. Superman is suppose to change with the times or even be beyond. That’s what “man of tomorrow” means.

Whatever happened to the man of tomorrow? We should all be asking that question.

We do all have different preferences to who/ Superman should be because different generations of fans. But also DC has presented different interpretations of Superman and they have a multiverse to embrace them. Superman shouldn’t be limited to one view.

I agree that stories outside of "main canon" are up for different interpretations, long as they don't stray too far.

The subtext of in order to have humanity is to be a normal American is still terrible.

More like John Byrne decided to double on him being an "American human" because of his personal belief on being an immigrant. If Byrne wanted a Superman like that, he should've created his own instead stripping the character of what made him special.

Why give up if the other characters are suppose to be thriving now with the status quo they are in?

This simple caption here gets the dynamic of SMWW and why it’s so interesting. Don’t understand how the GA can get SMWW and embrace it as the positive pairing it is but DC doesn’t, don’t want to or make the dynamic seem bad or hard to understand.

I hold the personal belief that DC Comics has always wanted it since 1961, but Superman and Lois Lane can't be broken up. George Perez opened the door when he made Steve Trevor an older man. But, DC went with Superman and Lois Lane. Wonder Woman and Steve Trevor are a thing again, don't know in current continuity. So, that made things harder. In the end, these pairing can't be broken up. So, why not let writers do their own continuity like Miller's TDK and White Knight? There's room for it.

When actual facts are presented : SMWW was a success

When the new52 trended lots actually spoke up to say they enjoyed SMWW and actually want them as a couple. I don’t understand how a company would choose to screw up constantly on such a concept that is successful but want to force outdated stuff or things people clearly don’t care for, indifferent of and wonder why things are stagnant or dropping in interest period.
Such a missed opportunity and wasted potential.

If we're talking real revisionism, the New52 was way more successful than DC Comics and the anti-New52 fans give it credit for.
