It’s still the idea in a way being utilized and it’s showing exactly why the idea was aborted.

Thinking about it, SM is the only character that remained still "trapped" in the 5G ideas despite the initiative was aborted.

Really? Hmmm…. So if this is the case, it needs to be realized free likes doesn’t mean actual financial support.

Well yeah that’s obvious. If it’s the same stuff being pushed but slap a shiny new number 1, of course it won’t make sales better. However, if like we say repeatedly, use the multiverse and utilize the concepts that are known to have a solid support base they won’t have to rely on Batman being more than half the line and actually bring in new readers.

As a concept the multiverse is being OVERused lately, but it's mostly to have multiple characters on the same page or on screen. Add SM/WW there (like Unatti/Kal in JLI) and they'll get lost in the crowd.

Shame to be leaving so much potential on the table.

It's comics. Concepts as much as characters come and go. You never know what could come back in the future.

I guess all that matter in the end is what the editors (and WB) decide to push. No matter the complaints, they'll keep it going.

The irony is that the MCU doesn't really need the multiverse as they'll focus anyway on the main continuity started with Iron Man in 2008.
