I can see how it looks Western (kind of reminds of a Jonah Hex logo I saw once), although I think they're going for more of an "old school" vibe.

*Raises hand* I was one of those people, and I stand by my assessment.

I guess it's inconsequential, I'd just prefer the standard Super-logo.

A "Western"-style font for the logo is not altogether inappropriate. After all, it's the Infinite Frontier, right? Steve Miller isn't the only space cowboy in these parts! Our story begins with a shoot-out in a saloon in Mos Eisley...

It’s just a fun Elseworld fanart bit sadly.

If I were to ever get break into comics that'd on the bucket list of stories I'd do if I ever worked at DC.

If I was feeling extra pretentious that day, I'd even try to write in the style of texts like the Iliad or Aeneid.

Honestly the idea of Clark and Kara arriving at entirely different points on Earth and being imprinted by two very different cultures before they finally meet is an interesting concept, although Kara comes with her Kryptonian heritage to begin with so maybe it's a little redundant.

Kind of reminds me of that Justice League Action episode where Mxy made Kara a Kardashian who had to fight Red Son Superman.

So I guess I thought I’d ask, what do you all think is a good modern origin series/story arc for Kara? The Jeff Loeb Batman/Superman, the new 52 run, or something else entirely?

The Loeb arc was my first intro to her and I think it still works well at getting the basics of who Kara is
-She and Kal love one another but they both also have problems relating to one another, and Kara can feel smothered by Kal’s overprotective nature
-Kara is headstrong, hot-tempered, and impulsive, but also kind, resourceful, and upbeat

The New 52 run gets across a few ideas that I like and consider vital
-She doesn’t like Earth and doesn’t consider it home the same way Kal does
-She’s deeply traumatized by Krypton dying and all she wants is to go “home”
-She has a lot of rage built up inside her that threatens to overwhelm her, even as her good nature remains core
-She’s sort of put off by her cousin, she didn’t expect him to end up like he is, and he’s sort of an alien to her same as humanity

I’ve heard Being Super is a good origin as well, but it also seems to just give her Kal’s origin which I’m not a fan of. Don’t like the Superfamily being turned into Clark clones.

I usually recommend the Sterling Gates run .

Doesn't seems, is it. Essentially, it is Smallville but with Kara instead Clark, with her discovering her unknonwn alien origin. The higher interest Kara have is her contrast to Superman by being someone who lived in Krypton. There you have another angle to explore the character and tell different stories, from a different perspective. With that trait, she is a whole different concept than Superman. Tamamki's Being Super is well narrated, but I couldn't enjoy it because of that aspect. I also had the same problem with Tamaki's She-Hulk. In both cases, she take a female character with a profile different from her male counterpart and she transferred them. I got the feeling than she was telling than the only way such character would be valide was if they were their male counterparts.
