Hey if this is anything like his up in the sky mini I’m down for this, Kara could use some big character stories after the time she’s had.

That’s my hope as well, that it will be a more fleshed out take on what he did with Kal in Up in the Sky! At least this story is free from having to tie into events, Kara will be in PKJ’s Action and then she’ll basically be in her own little bubble in the Kingverse with Strange Adventures (not saying the two will tie in, just that they’re both fairly self contained). Frankly after the endless details of her ongoing due to stuff happening in the larger DCU, she needs something self-contained.

King of feel like a series specific thread should be used if it exists rather than cluttering up an appreciation thread but also I'm not a cop and no one has to listen to me so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Anybody know why Supergirl never showed up on the Hanna-Barbera era Superfriends Justice League cartoons? She certainly existed back then and was actively in published comics. Seems like it took until the 1990s era Superman cartoon for her to actually debut in animation. In retrospect, it seems quite odd, especially since there were relatively few women heroes featured on the show. In terms of youth/teen heroes, you had the non-powered Wendy early on, then of course Jayna from the Wonder Twins.. But no Kara. Hmm. Could have been interesting when they debuted Firestorm and Cyborg on the series. There could almost have been a Teen Titans spinoff back then, including her.

Could it have been a rights issue?

curious. The Salkinds secured the movie production rights for Superman characters (in concert with Warner Studios) in the 1970s. Yet, that seemingly didn't prevent Superman from appearing on Superfriends. So who knows, lol. It's just odd, in retrospect.

Some of the choices for the Super Friends cartoon were kind of strange. Flash wasn't a member, Green Lantern wasn't a member. Hawkman wasn't really a member. At least not ongoing members. But they made up some teenagers for the show.

Saw one wild rumor about the nature of the Sasha Calle Supergirl:
    spoilers:
It’s not Kara, it’s a gender bent version of Kal
    end of spoilers

I don’t really believe it but if so I think that pretty much confirms the nature of the Coates/Abrams reboot as well.

I guess that would get around the complaints of her not dyeing her hair.
    end of spoilers

Something like that yeah. I don’t really believe it, but it wouldn’t be the weirdest decision WB has made given the Multiverse angle they’re using with Flash.
