A gender-flipped Jon Kent is what I see (which is why I would easily buy this being Superman’s daughter), not so much Kara. I expect it will be Kara in name at the very least since she’s the one everyone knows.

I think she's probably going to be a Kryptonian refugee if only so her backstory makes sense that she probably crash landed on Earth and the government captured/experimented on her, which I don't see happening with Superman's child if he were around.

I mean, am I wrong though? Short, dark, hair and a suit that's basically more or less Cavill's with more red on the top? She's even apparently getting Superman's Flashpoint backstory.

If they're positing her as taking over the franchise entirely than I guess I get it, and they might be trying to deliberately eschew anything recognizably Supergirl because that's what Mellissa Benoist is known for, but that's just how I'm looking at it.
