Interesting, working my way to that interview now. I’m listening to the recent Perkins Word Balloon podcast and he still wants to do the original Daily Planet Black Label book with Rucka, so maybe we’ll get some more Superman BL projects. Waid was also on WB again recently and has once again said “the doors to the asylum have been flung wide open” and he’s got more DC work coming.

You know I bet the artist King wants is Kubert given he did Up in the Sky, but I think Kubert is too hardcore a Batman guy to want to spend a year or so drawing Superman when he can be doing Batman projects with Taylor and Miller and whoever.

Might be Gerads actually. Met him at a con and he joked about disliking drawing Superman because of having to draw the S-shield every time differently by hand. Not sure if he was serious, he killed the commission I had him do, but he puts a ton of work into his projects so if something like that actually increases the workload I could see him bowing out of it.

Never say never, he did agree to do a Superman mini with Tom King which I loved. But aside from that he has only worked on Batman projects as far as I know. It’s a shame because I too love his Superman and his designs for Superman’s world. Be a real shame if we never got another chance to see him draw more corners of it.
