Definitely agree about the 2099 armor. It's a shame that Patrick Broderick sort of faded away in Marvel Comics.... he is the Doom 2099 artist as far as I'm concerned. I also remember his Micronauts run with Marvel. Currently I think he may be teaching.

But I did find this recent Doom work (not for publication though) that he did so he still has a hand in things.

There are some aspects of Simonson's armor that I really like. IIRC he was one of the early versions done without the tunic (besides Secret Wars) . Instead of the tunic he added faulds which were plates of armor worn below the the armor for the torso. The fauld protects the waist and hips. The original Doom 2099 armor had that design but given a more modern style.

I think Doomscribe received this statue already but here is the latest Doctor Doom bust from Diamond Select that arrived on Friday. I really like the way it shows his gauntlets generating some kind of energy blast

And here it is paired with an earlier bust from Bowen Designs...

I think this whole marriage thing will be a short lived event made to justify Doom´s presence in Guardians of the Galaxy. All this could have been avoided if he left Cristoff like he always did before or Zora herself as his representant but I guess he have to have drama.
Well, that Victor intended to marry Zora for political reasons and not for love was pretty obvious IMO it was the only logical explanation. I suppose marriage is the shortest way to legitimize her as queen of Latveria, to the detriment of Kristoff who in theory should still be Doom's heir (Kristoff who I suppose has disappeared again?), and with a legitimate and trusted regent in office Victor can now leave the country without risking a collapse of the Latverian society every time. He is now free to wander around the cosmos with the Guardians of the Galaxy as he pleases. I just hope Zora won’t end up playing some bad trick on him… I like Zora but with Victor it always ends badly.
That said, I would certainly have preferred seeing him marry a woman he loved.

Cool! Mine arrived a few days ago. It’s a really nice bust, I love his pose.

I don´t think Zora will betray him, the only way I could see her trying that is if he did something that put Latveria in danger for his own purposes, before she was his ally, she was a Latverian leader so imo only in that circunstance would she think of fighting him, in fact that was her conclusion after he asked her to kill her mother, that she would be mainly loyal to Latveria, even over Doom and yes it would have been nice to see him married with someone he loves, I would say Le Fey but that will never happen.

Recently watched the unreleased 1994 FF movie and never thought I'd enjoy it this much. Doom himself has that silver age campiness that I adore. Doom should be closer to Thanos than Ultron personality-wise when he comes to the MCU but some of that chaotic energy can be entertaining.

I still haven't gotten around to seeing that Roger Corman produced Fantastic Four movie. Years ago at a small local comic con someone had it displaying on a monitor in their booth and it looked like poor quality so I didn't buy it. Probably was a copy many generations from the original. One of these days I will have to check out that FB page it has.

Thanks. I would like to see more of Doom with Morgan le Fey too. Cantwell showed us an interesting facet of their relationship. I got the sense that since she moves through time also that it may have been a bit younger version of herself. Or one that has lived for a while in contemporary times who sort of updated herself. They do have that daughter together Caroline Le Fey who was in Fearless Defenders but IMO she needs a makeover.

The Runaways series will be getting a 100th issue (there have been several prior iterations) in August. I love that they feature Doombot on the cover by Kris Anka, one of his co-creators. He is Doom's most successful Doombots at leading a life of his own. He started out as a member of Avengers A.I.

Brian is on a Doom roll! Here's another one about "How Doctor Doom's Face Become Scarred Again After Secret Wars". I almost laughed out loud at this line (bolded is mine):

"He befriended Tony Stark (much to Tony's shock, as he really didn't think he would ever become buddies with Doctor freakin' Doom)"

Sooooo I’ve heard rumors from some creative types that Doom will be a very big deal in the upcoming Marvel films, and hints to him, and the FF will be littered in several of the upcoming films slated over the next couple years. Nothing concrete, so I’m taking it with a grain of salt at this time, but just thought I’d share the rumor with all of you Doomophiles.

What counts is who they cast as Doom, has to be a major actor.

Major, or at least someone very commanding.

Thanks for the info Shadowcat. We've had so many rumors since Fox turned over the rights to the Fantastic Four and Doom to Disney/Marvel. Some say that Latveria will be mentioned in BP 2 if that ever gets going. I keep wondering if they will use the country of Latveria. They mentioned the country of Latvia a lot in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier but that is to the north near the Baltic Sea. Latveria is usually somewhere near Hungary and Romania/Translyvania. Many have speculated that Sokovia will evolve into Latveria somehow.

As for the actor, we can hope that they will get lucky again like Marvel did when casting Tom Hiddleston as Loki. But it has to be someone like him I think. Hiddleston studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic art and did some work in the stage doing parts in some of the classics.

Now that we've seen Valeria's soul trapped in Hell, I wonder if any writer will bother to have her rescued. I really think Waid went too far there.
