Hey, Doomscribe. I like your entry for this week's cover contest. It made me go back and read that story. I had forgotten that Maleev drew that story. Great splash page at the end. If any Doom fans haven't read it, you should get out Original Sins #4. And yes, this mini is "Sins" plural since it's an anthology series.

Looking over the November Solicitations, I don't see Doom mentioned in any ongoing but we have the official announcement of the omnibus Doctor Doom: Books of Doom. I like that title. This book is going to be massive with a 1336 page count. Amazon lists this with an April 2022 release date. I may pass on this because I have everything that is included but there are some interesting additions for those who may not have these. First of all, Brubaker's Books of Doom in the TPB has been out of print for a while. I should have picked up one while I had the chance but I still have the single issues. This omnibus will also include the GN Emperor Doom that as far as I know hasn't been reprinted since the first edition, which I do have.

Tales of Wonder is a site I've used for many years and you can get a good price there. Both of these are going to be released in 2021 but preorders may sell out fast.

Just saw this on a comic book facebook group and I stole it. I am unsure if it is real or not, but does it really matter?

You know that is just weird enough to be true or someone went through a lot of trouble to make those. Now IIRC, Doom is a tea drinker, at least he was in his Infamous Iron Man phase

Thanks for posting that, Ravin' Ray

You're right....that sure is a strange composition! I can't figure out what's going on with the background...are they in some kind of icy environment? I am hoping that Doom does make at least an appearance in this. They have gotten fairly close recently, especially in the Savage Avengers title back in 2019

    Love that Doom Coffee! lol

Also there was a small Doom Cameo in The Marvels #4, he was basically on a screen threatening people, others were on it too for the news report

I can easily imagine inserting this in Triumph and Torment after Mephisto sends them back to Earth, Strange is flat-out exhausted while Doom is able to rest on a chair. He sees Stephen lying helpless, but honors his hospitality and allows him to rest and recover before providing him safe departure.

Yes, that would be a good scene to have included. He may have even offered his hospitality to Stephen to extend his stay at Castle Doom until he was rested. Sometimes I think Doom has a hidden desire to run a resort hotel or something since there are quite a few heroes that have stayed there, like Wanda and Layla Millar who both had extended stays. Layla stayed there about a year but we never really say much of that. Wanda could have been hidden there for months too. Heinberg never gave a specific timeline IIRC

Thanks for posting that. I will have to look for that when it comes to Marvel Unlimited. There was a time when it was possible to buy the entire Marvel line but that was years ago. Now I only pick and choose stuff, esp when some issues are $4.99. The next issue of the Fantastic Four will be a $9.99 issue and the Avengers 750th issue anniversary will be also. I know for sure Doom will be in that Avengers story or I should say an AU Doom. I don't know if Doom will be in the special edition FF. I will probably buy both anyway at least to see if the FF has any follow up to the disastrous wedding issue

No, it doesn 't. I love this!
Namor the Sub-Mariner, Marvel's oldest character, will have been published for 85 years in 2024. So where's my GOOD Namor anniversary ongoing, Marvel?

I'm definitely picking this up. I also probably have most of these in various collections, but it's great to have them in all one place, and oversized!

That's true but I am running out of bookshelf space for something that massive! I did notice an odd omission. There is one issue missing from the Astonishing Tales series, Doom's first solo comic, or I should say half a comic since this was when Marvel had these shared titles or some that were bi-monthly But the issue missing in the Omnibus is #4, where Doom takes a vacation on the French Rivieria while his castle is undergoing repairs. The trip doesn't go very well. It is written by Stan's brother Larry Lieber and drawn by Wally Wood. You can tell at this point Doom isn't that well known and is still a mysterious figure even in Europe. Or why would some common thieves try to steal any valuables he had while he was asleep in his room at the hotel?

I also notice there is going to be a version of the omnibus with a Greg Land cover. I wonder what one that will be?

Then later Doom goes to check out the casino.....

That's from a mini series called Avengers & the Infinity Gauntlet. One would think from the title that this would be an important event but it's really more a lighthearted and very funny and definitly not in continuity. Amazon says it was aimed and younger readers but I think older fans would be entertained also.
