The thing is, people are often unaware of the fact that for 7 years after, she was totally absent from comics. That's the thing that did the real damage, because her narrative just stopped dead, which is why the story has hung over her for so long. Had she not ended up in limbo, other stories would have followed and changed her definition and perception. That's pretty much how characters recover from bad stories, by moving on.
What it's really an example of, is Marvel writing a character into a corner, then dumping that character when they can't think of a way out. They saw her as disposable, indeed they wanted rid of her, so didn't care about it

It was chain reaction. A hack didn't bother to do any research, so he reinvented Wanda to do a horrible act. The hack then continued to reinvent Wanda so she could do another horrible act. Then the hack decided leave Wanda so someone else could fix his mess, however no-one wanted to touch Wanda given she has destroyed two of Marvel's main teams in a space of a year. All the while, the higher ups like the whole HOM idea as well as not doing the research that forced Mutantkind to stay as a minority, so they didn't want that to ever be undone.

I will try to tell myself that if they have anything to announce for Wanda they won't do it until after Trial of Magneto is finished, but I admit that's just cope.

This is both the best and worst time to be a Scarlet Witch fan.

The funny thing is that even though she's not in any comics she is front and center on one of the two solicited "Young Avengers Omnibus" covers, which makes no sense since it should have the Young Avengers front and center.



Wanda covers apparently sell comics, but they don't think Wanda sells comics. Weird.
