The MCU doesn't usually pull much from comics of that era... though I guess there isn't a whole lot of recent Wanda material to pull from.

Olsen and Bettany finally get a chance to show what they can do after years of small parts, and they do a good job of being funny but not too campy, though Kathryn Hahn is the best at this style of acting.

Now put Wanda in a comic, Marvel.
    Release Darkhold, Marvel!

Maybe you're on to something here that I didn't see at first. When asked directly about Simon, WandaVision director Matt Shakman "pleaded the 5th":

And I agree with many posters here. Hahn was so funny. I laughed at 80 percent of her jokes. The Harts did a great job of tickling my funny bone too.

This is one reason this isn’t House of M. That wasn’t Wanda’s story. Whatever role Wanda has in creating this new reality, the show is about her. Even the fake commercials are references to her MCU backstory.

Also if she created a world where she could be with Vision, that makes way more sense than creating a world so Magneto can be king.

Very Good Article and by what I was showing at the end it wad the Most Popular one on The Atlantic treading at the time over all the Political articles going on, that is impresses but when you think about it not real.

By What I, You Gurkle, GenericUsername and others have speculated for sometime and still do, this will not be a Retalling of HoM the even worst former Disassemble, this will be a Superhero story that takes a Mature, Real World and Real time view of what grief is and depending on what abilities and possessions we have at our disposal at that given time(In this case Powers and Weird altering worlds), how we uses those ablilities to cope with grief and lost.

It shows just how much of a Hot Dumbsters Fire HoM(Outsided of the Family Magnus moments) and Disassemble was, I mean a REALLY Hot and really Offensive Dumbster Fire with how offensive it Took that of a Griefing women and mixing-up her history to Just us it as an excuse to get rid of her and the classic Avengers to Make Bendis's All Star Avengers, aka Marvels 2005 Justice League. =/

How Writers approached that story was horride and would get them flammed online these days short of like How Hydra-Cap went back in 2016. The fact the Grief and a lady going threw greif and possession was suppose to be looked upon as weak of her character and seem to be looked down upon to think of KILLING her by her own friends, that was about getting rid of exes baggage Marvel and Bendis did not Want more then think just how offensive and mishandling they did in presenting a Womans Grief.

Honestly I makes me So Mad thinking of it, but I hold myself to a better standard now cause for ALL I know of friends here and in RL those stories are now looked DOWN-Upon in the most negative light for good reason to what the hell where they thinking?! So Good Ridance if you ask me.

I have good Hopes in WandaVision to take a more Realworld Look at grief and loss when it comes to a world of Super-Beings this time around. Yes their is someone pulling the strings it seems too, but if you look at a body of RL happens lately, their is always People pulling others strings during their grief to gain or hold onto power and money.

So WandaVision is not to far off to what our world is going threw right now, we are Drowing in Grief in to many fronts and we escape into our own worlds, including much Fantasy as well to escape the horrors outside. We are More of WandaVision now then we realize an this is why it is a story for our Time and Wanda is the Character for our time as well.

It is Not Weakness to struggle threw Grief and Lose, it is Human to do so and that is Why Wanda is one of the Most Human Connectable Characters, She is a Pillar of US right now more then ever.

How Wanda will get threw this and become strong is a way for us to get threw these times and become better and strong.

I am an X-Men fan too and I just want you all to know that not every X-fan feels the same way about Wanda that the echo chamber of the CBR forum would have you believe. (If that forum was truly reflective of public opinion, then Wolverine would be a d-list nobody and Winddancer would be celebrating her 300 anniversary issue and have multiple films and action figures available for purchase, and that's just not...reality. Don't let a vocal few bully you for liking a fictional character.

But to get back on tangent, I wonder when the significance of these old sitcom based realities will be explained? Perhaps Wanda had a fondness for old American television series growing up in Sokovia, seeing it as the "American" ideal? Or is it someone else who is creating this?
It is good to hear you have been around our thread Vegeta, glad to see you have admired it, but please dropby as much as you like to Wanda's Thread, it be Great to have you often and your views and fandom!

Thanks for your views on what goes on with X-Men fans at times too and you are right, Just like You I am an X-Fan as well as many others here and I know others on the X-Forums are Fans of Wanda's too. So Indeed the ideal of being an X-Fan is seperate to being a Wanda fan is just not the case and I am glad when that is pointed out. Also that point on how different fans our online in our fandoms online compare to real world reality.

That is why it has been SO EPIC seeing the Real World turnig more and more to Loving Wanda and WandaVision is help to do that!

So Far the Sitcom thing has only been guessed at, from a metaphor to Wanda's Love and Family Growth to these or as you said is a theory as well that these TV shows being shows of her childhood that shaped her view on what the ideal lives might be. Guess we have to wait and see.

Be Great to Have you Around talk share your Fandom Vegeta, you are Most Welcomed Here!

One thing I never understood about mental illness in the comic books. If Wanda has the ability to "warp reality", wouldn't casting a hex to deal with her mental health problems be a walk in the park? That's why I can never understand how superheroes can save universes and cheat death, but are unable to deal with things like cancer and depression/anxiety. It just doesn't make sense to me, you know?

Heroes aren't allowed to solve real world problems, it's all part of trying to keep comics relatable.

Well Because.......because...........becuasssssssseeee. ..........Hey You are ruining Bendis's Magical Wanda Genie Story, he needed DRAMA!

Yep, You hit the Nail Right on the Head Albert1981 with one of the Major Plot Holes of Bendis's Era Writing of Wanda or Bendis's Version of her, mostly she can do Anything and Everything with really not good reasons give how she ended up THAT powerful, yet for no reason can she be made to just Wish away cause that end all the unessary drama he wanted out of it.

But even if he did that, wish her own mental issues he lazyly gave her at that time(But Really after Children's Crusade it was Possession so I rather that story to explain mostly everything that happened then), if we just go with what Bendis gave to use in those stories, that is even furtherly offensive cause that just ignores the really issues of mental issues and grief was "Trying" to explain to us she had, that it can be magically taken away and shows major underling problems with how offensive writers use this constant plot point to get what they want but never address the real struggles and reasons they are for characters.

But even more further is that as a writer by making someone Genie Level Powers, you back yourself into a writing corner when you make to OP Characters that can honeslty do anything you wish on such a level, yet they just don't fix all their own problems that is further offensive with what Bendis got at, so Unessary and Offensive Tension is what is left with the reader and where even more anger is made.

    Either way the way Bendis dealt was this was he Damned his own story right at the start with using Mental Issues Lazyly and Offesively, Made her a Genie but never gave why she could not just fix herself which would be so many other levels of offensive and just made it all happen for this was all really for;

Making her a plot devise cause they did not want Wanda or many other classic Avengers arount to get to his New Status quo All-Stars Justice League Avengers and Marvels New Dark Statues quoes they where going foward with at the 2000's mid time.
