He was so good on SNL. He's got great comedic timing.

Hi all. Just wanted to post some excellent scenes from Shang-Chi #6, namely the fight against Thor:
Loved this fight, especially Shang's use of the sword. In some pages, you can see him use the traditional one-handed posture with the sword. Yes, some swords are two handed, but the one-handed way is more common.
THis shows to me that when given the right tools, Shang can hang with gods.

"A man of peace...who fights like ten tigers."
So are there any hints at what we might get once we get over this "Shang fights other heroes" phase?
I was thinking Shang joining Star-lords crew or Whom ever is now incharge of the guardians of the galaxy.
The new gotg game has them fighting a makluan. Thats the kind of story I was thinking of, If and when they start giving the 10-Rings to Shang in 616.
Also cool for Shang to learn Martial Arts from other worlds.
There's been a lot of set up for an attack on Shang and the Five Weapons Society. I think the figure who's been accumulating forces behind the scenes has some shared past with Shang's father. Maybe another family member, like an uncle? Hmmm.
In other Shang-Chi news, great video on how many fighting styles Shang-Chi knows. Shows the variety of Chinese martial arts:

Best of luck to the sequels of Shang-Chi. I liked the movie a lot (and have a crush on Awkwafina). Between Shang-Chi and The Suicide Squad it finally has been a very good year for comic book movies again.

Trying to identify which comic this image by Mike Deodato Jr is from?

Awesome to hear that. Simu Liu has expressed how relieved he is to hear that Cretton will be helming the sequel:

Always thought this was some promo art.

Really enjoy these deleted scenes from the movie:
Favorites have to be the one featuring Wenwu and Shang and Wenwu with the boss of the Iron Gang. In the former, he displays a very calm demeanor. Shang is disrespectful but Wenwu takes it in stride with a slight smile. As for the latter, Wenwu shows his kind cruelty. It's an oxymoron for sure, but somehow he makes it work.
Again, with all this talk about Shang's father, the more I'm interested in seeing stories featuring him. It would be cool to see Zheng Zu's past explored more fully. I see someone who's driven, harsh, cunning, yet still merciful in a way. The latest Shang-Chi miniseries and regular series offer glimpses of what made that personality. But there's more to be told. When did he meet the Ancient One? What was his fight like with Fin Fang Foom? When did he learn about mutants and how did he come to fear them? (I guarantee you he met Mr. Sinister or Apocalypse back in the day).
Lots of story potential there.

Just watched the movie and it was entertaining. Not a Shang-chi in the know guy but some of the PIS was distracting. Seems to me that if the village of the good guys had stocked up on some firearms, Daddy's attack would have ended quickly. Saw no evidence that the attackers were bullet proof. Most Marvel fights have charges into melees. Why? If you have a defensible position, take advantage of such.
Also, the Dweller in the Dark as a major threat? Seemed like a pretty everyday monster in any Marvel Universe. Got taken down pretty quickly.
Love the fight scenes though and the story (independent of the above). I really felt sorry for Daddy. Too bad they couldn't have tranquilized him and taken him to a grief therapist.
Most superheroes don't know how to fight and modern gun users and troops not burdened with Red shirt, Star Wars trooper syndromes would take all but the invulnerable or speedsters out.
Yes, they depend on the writers. LOL. In Arrow, Oliver would just dodge his motorcycle around 100s of rounds from automatic weapons. Obvious head shots were not taken, such that body armor for the chest suffice. Despite modern failure to stop training indicating to shoot at head or pelvis/leg - bad guys just blaze away at Captain America's shield.
