I didn’t read it, was she still powered, or no?

She still had her powers, it seemed. It was issue 8 of Marvel Comics Presents (2019), though for some reason, the writer or letterer called her Charlotte Winter instead of Charlotte Witter.

Has there been any discussion on the casting speculation that Daisy Ridley or Naomi Scott might play Jessica in the MCU?

There has not been. Those are just rumors and the movie hasn't even been confirmed as Spider-Woman.

Daisy didn't even know who the character was when she was asked - granted they all feign ignorance until it's officially announced so.

Did Daisy really not even know who Spider-Woman is? I heard that while she said she wasn't aware there was any push for her to be cast or that anyone reached out to her about the role, she would definitely love to take on another franchise. But like you said, a lot of these actors deny in front of the cameras until everything is 100% confirmed. Disney has cast Daisy in some other stuff now as well, plus Kelly Marie Tran was cast as Raya, so I can totally see them pushing Daisy for the role. That's my hope anyway because I know some people would go crazy over Brie and Daisy starring in the MCU as best friends together, considering how much undue flack they got for playing Carol and Rey.

The original rumor was that Olivia Wilde would be directing a Spider-Woman movie right?

If you look up Uncanny X-Men 104, it has a release date of April 1977. Back then, a lot of news stands would stamp the cover so they could track how long it had been on the rack. My copy of that issue is stamped January 14, 1977 despite the April 1977 date that Marvel printed in the cover's corner. I actually recall purchasing that issue for my birthday which is in January.

It's odd that the people that report these statistics don't know better, but I assume they are not familiar with the practice and just assume the cover date reflects the release date.
You're completely right. I remember being a kid and adjusting a real date of January to a cover date of April.

Further proof is that the indicia on the first page of Marvel Spotlight #32 has "©1976" on it.

Yes that was the original rumor. She also named dropped Kevin Feige which has people speculating the movie is in the MCU rather than the Sony verse.

Daisy said she'd do another franchise after it was explained to her..but she also mentioned into the Spider-Verse so I think she's confused? BUT Jessis also slated to show up in one of the sequels to that so maybe she's been tapped to voice Jess there?

Kcekada is correct ...but Marvel uses the cover date as the first appearance. So the issue may have dropped in 1976, but 2/10/77 is Jess official appearance date.

My understanding is that MS are going ahead with the Secret Invasion storyline. So it would make perfect sense for them to start introducing Spider-woman into the works.
I was actually (pleasantly) surprised to see that this was a rumour. Either something is in the works in terms of casting. Or there is some kind of collective hive mind amongst people for her to be cast.

As a fan of Queen Veranke, I have always thought that Daisy would be perfect for the role of Spider-Woman. She has her looks and is one of the few young actresses out there who has the gravitas to pull off the whole queen/leader role. So I am really hoping against hope that this happens. I would also be very happy with Emily Blunt.

Jess in a spiderverse sequel is another thing I'd definitely be here for.

I really hope the movie is in the MCU because I heard that Feige is a big Spider-Woman fan and is really pushing for her.

I think what she said about Into the Spider-Verse was that she really liked that movie but I don't 100% remember. I'd like to see Jessica in the sequel though so I'd be happy with Daisy playing her there, but I would prefer her as the live-action version if we can only have one.

I wonder how that's going to work with the Skrulls allied with Earth and its protectors. It would be interesting if we got a Spider-Woman movie and the reveal at the end is that it's not the real Jess at all but Veranke (like what Bendis originally planned for a Spider-Woman book before feeling that readers would be cheated if they buy a Spider-Woman book and expect Spider-Woman. That type of twist can work better in a team book).

There's been a popular fancast for Daisy as Jess for a while now but that Olivia Wilde rumor is what really brought some credibility towards the fact that Marvel is looking to cast either Daisy Ridley or Naomi Scott as Jess. I can see it because Disney has good relationships with both, with Daisy as Rey and Naomi as Princess Jasmine. And they've already cast Kelly Marie Tran (Rose Tico from Star Wars) as their new Disney Princess Raya and current rumors are that Mena Massoud (Aladdin) is going to be cast as Ezra Bridger for one of the Star Wars Disney+ shows, not to mention it's been teased that Brie Larson might show up in Star Wars so Disney seems very comfortable giving their actors multiple franchises.
