omg i LOVED Xena. Gabrielle was my fave of course but god damn Aires was the first time i thought a dude could be cute. lmao.

ares was my baby father lololol. it made me sad when Gabrielle took on the mantle after xena was killed. xena was and forever will be my girl though. Gabrielle very much got on my nerves early on but she stepped her game tremendously as time went on.

When Gab got the staff she went up 1000 for me. When she got the Sai, I lost my mind! Man, you two are making me want to bust out my season set dvds and do a rewatch as I do the Xena yell!

Personally, I don't get that sort of vibe from Ewing. He's writing Storm not some villain cosplaying as her. I think he's too much of a fan of the character and talented enough of a writer to not have to resort in a reboot of her personality just to tell a story.

You know the fear of a silly fan, as much as Al Ewing is one of the best writers I've written today, I still keep my guard up, everything is so big and new, a child's fear of what this adventure can take.

My stand out is when Gabrielle was doing her walk of peace with Eli and the roman soilders attack xena and broke her spine and Gab's threw all that away and was slaying them left and right. In 2001 i was 16 going on 17 and when i tell you that episdoe had me in "yaaaas tears" i kid you not. Gabrielle is one of my spirit animals. I have 8 siblings too so the amount of bartering i had to do to secure a tv on the prime slot of saturday night has still aided me to this day. lol.

And yes my brain moved through a whole season like it was a thought. lol.

The alter where she was impregnated with hope. Becoming an amazon princess. lol Xena was secondary for me.

Aah you don't know how emotional I get to hear your story in this comic book world, I'm so grateful for you, for always fighting in the name of the Storm at such a turbulent time, I can't even imagine the size of your happiness, pride , nice to see you. she's running the show this year. I started immersing myself in this world in 2015 attending RPGs (but I already knew it from animations and movies, but it was something very superficial, I was one of the people who underestimated its power) but it was only in 2018 that I started to delve into xmens, and in 2020 was where I had a connection with Ororo.

If it weren't for you and your debates, forums, I wouldn't understand the true powers of the storm and wouldn't realize that she is the mighty and true Goddess.

I'm truly overwhelmed right now. The amount of love I've received today is truly one that brings me joy and so very appreciative of the kindness. It sincerely means a lot to me. What made you start to delve into her in 2018 and what was it on 2020 that made you truly connect with her????

For your last statement that really means so much. I remember not knowing anything really about storm when I first started posting here and had some really knowledgeable storm fans offer great advice on her to be a better fan who offers more to her appreciation. I'm so humbled and happy that I was able to contribute in any way in your journey and im so happy forums like this have allowed for us to share with one another the wonder that is Storm!!! I think of it more as a default. Like in coates run Storm said what she knows of gods belief makes them stronger so i think of it more as a back of your brain thought than an active one. Like if a million people somewhere saw storm do something and in the back of their mind they thought "she must be a god." even if they aren't actively thinking it she is empowered by it and can call on her power herself like in the Shuri story where she had no one actively believing in her but her goddess self came out to destroy the fungi.

not the DVD set boo lolol! she became vastly much better once she got the sai!! she was putting Raphael to shame honey.

how do you see her using her powers more on a cosmic or astronomical level?

Ahh. I didn't read that Shuri story and completely forgot about its existence.
This I think is more plausible. From the perspective that it took the Wakanda/Adversary situation to "awaken" the God-head within and bring it to the surface but now that it's fully alive within her...it's there to access as needed.

Exactly how i see it. Otherwise all marvel gods based on their system would need continual prayer, including thor. Once you've ascended you've done just that. But i think Storm is the first goddess or god to ascend from a mortal coil without dying first.

if im.being fair and unbiased i still don't understand how her godhead powers work and what exactly in her is tied to the divine. this wasn't explained by Coates and crew. though I imagine he wanted to do more on this in his solo he wanted for storm and we've speculated as to where it all stems from it would be nice to see Ewing explore this .

Honestly in some ways all gods seem like mutants to me in most universes and companies because if i think about it what exactly is suppose to make them gods. It's obviously not their direct power like Posideon of the Sea or Zeus with weather. Those seem to be inherent abilities which make it unique to them so when i think of gods i don't think of anything spectacular in comics i think of universal traits which are just untold strength, untold length of life, untold durability, just basic traits. Which i will say coates story connected with me on, powerful individuals people believe in but then no one is above Jehovah so at the end of the day i don't even think of them at that level ever.

the best way I can distinguish between a gods powers and a mutants or other super powered person ability is spiritual versus physical . what I mean by this is that God powers can impact obviously the spiritual eleme to as well as those grounded in science (physical) but the same is not true of physical based powers. adversary mentioned this difference when he first encountered the xmen:




this is why though super heroes like magneto may have god like abilities they are not actual true gods as their powers are not spiritual based. the other attributes you mentioned i would agree with a distinguishing trait.

I must say I simply loved how Coates was able to complete the circuit with adversary so many years later. forge mentioned he feared them both and though it became clear why he was afraid of forge it didn't quite make sense with storm:
