Not going to lie it did shock me at first. I cant remember coates showing shuri having any interest in men or women so i was suprised at how smooth it was i guess. But it just felt out of the blue but i do see the potential. Though that old guy i found annoying especially the fake wakandian thing when wasnt he working with the bad guys during coates run so it was like "really dude, snarky and you didnt even do anything"

I think it’s helped a lot of other mutants too. Hickman started out focusing mainly on Xavier, Magneto, Apocalypse to the detriment of pretty much everyone else. The fans of younger and female mutants weren’t having it in the 21st century so it forced change. In Storm’s case not just recognizing she’s goddess but giving her a very important leadership role. I feel Ten of Swords was the catalyst that really changed things.

agreed. I feel the franchise still has a long way to go but I can see I've seen more of an effort for their stories to be diverse(race, gender and sexuality) which is a good thing.
