Excellent points all around, I really appreciate that y'all can see where I'm coming from. I guess I should count my blessings that we aren't getting an approach that would result in Civil War II - yikes....

    Yes.

What's funny with Schism is that I think Logan was right, long term. But in the moment, he was so far off that he ruined any sympathy I had. Plus, planting bombs all over the place to ensure he gets his way? There is a word for people who things like that: Villain

Thought Cyclops fans might appreciate this.

Whipped this up based on a mutual’s idea…

Given the recent news about Hickman, how does everyone feel? Thoughts?

When it comes to Scott, I'm not entirely sure what was Hickman's or another writer's idea. That being said, I'm not sure what to expect post Inferno.

It means that we're back in JDW's vision for Scott. Not a goood thing.

Yup. As much as people rag on Cyclops in X-Men Hickman's House of X cyclops scenes were weighty and memorable.

Yeah, that's not good. He thinks Scott doesn't enjoy anything, for one thing. Then there's the problem of his last involvements with the character.

Well, there was at least a plan with Hickman. It felt like there was buildup for something, good or bad. None of that seems to matter now.

I was very disappointed with what Hickman was doing (or not doing) with Scott, but this is definitely a Monkey's Paw situation.

    I laugh.

My choice to jump ship early seems, at least at this point, vindicated. I've said this before, but I got the feeling that Hickman's more interested in telling his story than telling an X-Men story. Marvel just offered him cash and carte blanche to do so. But now that he's got, what I assume, is a better deal, then ofc the man will take it.

Let's just hope Hickman left his blueprints and there's someone left in the X-Office that cares, if not about Cyke, then the X-Franchise. Did Hickman leave Marvel or is it just a side-gig?

But, eh, any bets on how soon JDW is gonna kill off Cyke / Magz / Chuckie, then spend the next five years having the pod people wax poetry on how evil they were?

    Let your wallet talk.
    Never forget, Cyke fans~ https://twitter.com/i/status/1246248602768486402
Jean had more presence in death than Cyke in Hickman's entire run.
Hickman succeeded where 2010s Marvel didn't: make the X-Men villainous and irrelevant.
Hilariously, the X-Men have now fully embraced mutant supremacy and racism against humans.

How would you feel about Cyclops getting a secondary mutation tied to the force that gives him his powers which gives him super strength?

Scott is a master at hand to hand combat. Give him force punches. Eat your heart out, Iron Fist.

Ehhh I'm not into it. I don't believe he needs power ups when he has a pretty strong power already plus geometry powers.

If anything, I would make him solar powered again.

What Scott needs more than anything else is to be able to break the 4th Wall like Deadpool. However, instead of using it to make sarcastic comments, he'd use it to take away the nerf bat his skills and powers are always getting screwed over by.
