Bullet also first appeared in these early Nocenti DD issues. He's probably the only villain created by Nocenti in her Daredevil run that I actually like.
    What about Typhoid Mary?
I know, right?! How could you forget Mary Walker (A.K.A. Typhoid Mary).
On orders from Kingpin, Mary gets up-close & personal with Murdock. And then Matt is taken in, even though he already has a relationship with Karen.

Surely this cover is a WIP or cropped from a background to avoid spoilers or something…surely…

She is easily the highlight of that run and effortlessly one of Daredevil’s more interesting villains.

Indeed. Being her creation, Nocenti's definitely the best writer for Typhoid Mary (IMHO):

Well guys, sorry to spoil your day, but I'm not a fan of Typhoid Mary

Zdarsky had a good handle her initially but since the KiB tie-in she hasn’t been very Typhoid or Mary.

She never seemed to have a proper purpose and her powers were never initially really explained. I also never took to her look. But above all, it was probably because she messed up Matt and Karen's relationship.

I know right? I said it before, but he would be one of my top choices to draw Daredevil.

Proper purpose? You mean something more than her mission to seduce Matt and defeat Daredevil? Were her powers not explained in that two page spread going over origin? If not, it’s all the more disappointing she’s not used more often so maybe other creators could have delved into her abilities more. And as far as Matt and Karen, mission accomplished!
