How much was Illyana underused and nerfed in the current Shadow King arc, versus how much did Magik throw the fight to let other people shine?
In the original Karma vs. Shadow King run in the 1980s, Magik clearly ran the fight to give everyone a chance to develop (otherwise she would have simply teleported Karma to Limbo instead of each of The New Mutants in turn to break Farouk's control.)
I also got the impression Illyana ran the Dead Souls miniseries low key so Tran and Xian could reconcile in certain ways (paralleling 'Little Snowflakes' issues with Piotr, as well as Rahne versus Strong Guy, Doug&Warlock etc.)

A lot of people are saying this is Illyana, but I don't see it. It likes like whoever it is has short hair and Illyana doesn't have earrings as far as I'm aware. It looks more like Clea to me, though I don't think Clea has earrings like that either.

Marvel has revealed who the new sorcerer supreme is a week ahead of time for some reason and it's the only person it could be given how issues 2 and 3 of Death of Dr. Strange played out, so not Illyana. As I said when it became clear she'd be staying on Krakoa and in New Mutants, this is the correct decision since they could not have their cake and eat it too by having Illyana be both sorcerer supreme and stay focused on mutant issues. It had to be one of the other.
