    That's interesting. spoilers:
I'm glad to know their story could be followed up so soon, but the fact that they might be keeping them as children for this long scares me. I really hope this won't turn into a situation where they got so attached to those child actors that they decided it would be fun if they aged along with the roles in a Harry Potter type of way. As much as I enjoyed what those kids brought to WandaVision, we have to move on from them soon if we want to have a proper Young Avengers in the MCU.

I am also concerned that we might not see teenage Wiccan in the finale but there was a verified leak over on MarvelStudiosSpoilers reddit that implies that spoilers:
Billy and Tommy participate in the final battle. Someone flat-out asked the leaker if the twins age up to help their mom and the leaker refused to confirm or deny it. The episode will also be 50 minutes long with credits. https://www.reddit.com/r/MarvelStudi...ion_episode_9/
    end of spoilers

Edit: Ok the leaker has now confirmed that spoilers:
Billy and Tommy DO NOT age-up during the fight. But he says "No word on if they age up after the fight sequence though." So unless the twins age into teens after the fighting is done for whatever reason, it looks like they might not become teens until the next Doctor Strange movie or even later than that.
    end of spoilers

    I am officially worried.

Am I the only one cool with the twins not aging up for a while? I mean I love their current actors, and Teddy's not even here yet so it's not like we're in a huge rush if piple are worried about that, also wasn't America casted about the same age? Who knows when Marvel wants to truly st up YA patience is a virtue.

    spoilers:
they tried to age up in response to Sparky dying right? Maybe they see Vision dying at the end of the battle and freak out, then age up. I just don't see why they're gonna hold them as ten year olds, especially given that since the casting for Teddy wasn't for WV, it's most definitely gonna be for Secret Invasion, which is filming this year apparently (?). If his actor ends up being in Hailee's and Kathryn's age range, then we have a very big problem

I think given Hailee and Kathryn are in their 20s, and the age range for Teddy's casting was like 16-25 or something like that, not to mention that since the casting grid for him wasn't for WV, it'll most likely be for Secret Invasion, keeping the twins 10 year olds for at least 1-2 more years when other members are debuting at their correct age makes some (me) worried. They realistically have until am3 when Cassie becomes Stature/Stinger, because by then we should have the twins, Eli, Kate, Teddy, and Cassie ready to go.

Even America's actress is 14, becoming 15 in april. And she can pass for a bit older. 10 year old children doesn't work with that...

Meh I still think it's too soon to go into panic mode on the off chance the twins don't age up at the end of next week then it will likely happen in Dr Strange and lead to big Incredibles family type showdown no need to assume the worst. YA is literally a nonfactor without Kate, Billy & Teddy, so Billy & Tommy will be the appropriate age when the time comes I promise you Marvel won't piss people off like that.

The actresses for Kate, Cassie, Kamala, and Riri (if they're included) are all 18+, so presumably the plan is not for all of the YA to slowly age into it.

Notice who the only characters who seem to be cast young so far are? America, Billy, and Tommy.

Know what they have in common? They're the LGBT characters. My big fear is that this is their excuse to ignore sexual orientation. "We didn't straightwash, this incarnation of the character is just a bit too young to talk about romantic plotlines."

The casting call for Teddy was for WandaVision or at least for him to make an appearance in it before Secret Invasion. I still think it's possible he'll make an appearance at the end, possibly in a mid-credits or post credits scene. I still think the theory that he's the FBI's missing person is plausible.

EXACTLY. This is my concern. The fear that Disney/Marvel would full-on straightwash LGBT characters including their most prominent gay couple was always laughable, but the possibility of them ignoring the gay characters was a legitimate concern. Making the gay guys too young to be openly gay yet would be a convenient way for them to sidestep the issue.

I also still recognize that it's entirely possible that the twins might become teenagers in the finale or at least in the next Doctor Strange movie, but I've been waiting years to finally see gay characters in the MCU.

My patience ran out long ago, and not just with the MCU but with pop-culture in general. I am so beyond tired of gay guys only ever being in Oscar-bait dramas, sappy rom-coms, or misery porn about AIDS or closet-cases.

All I'm gonna say Kamala and Riri are non-factors they are not YA and need to remain as such. And again with this fear you all seem to be having I really don't see Marvel being that obvious that would piss people off.

I really don't think they're going to keep the twins children when it comes time to make them main characters in their own right. That would be a very obvious blow to gay representation on screen and ignoring a massive part of the Young Avengers lore. While Disney can be shady, I think there is still plenty of time to age them up whether that be at the end of WandaVision, Dr. Strange 2, or even a different project before the Young Avengers finally join up. The whole plot of the device of them aging up in general implies that it will happen sooner or later.

Well, there goes my theory they would age during the final battle as a way to become stronger. At this point, I will just assume they won't age up so I don't have any expectation and don't get disappointed if it doesn't happen.

I do believe the Skrull refugee casting call was for WandaVision. Secret Invasion was nowhere near casting stage on January 2020. All insiders who reported about that casting call said it was for WandaVision, and Charles Murphy just recently confirmed again the Skrull casting call was for WandaVision on his Twitter. When he was asked about Hulkling, though, he said he was not expecting to see him on WandaVision. I'm not sure if that was just him not trying to give anyone hope or if he knows that the character is not Teddy (or perhaps if the role got cut)... but I seriously hope he's wrong. Teddy being cast at the appropriate age is the one thing giving me hope they will age Billy and Tommy pretty soon.

We have no evidence Kamala and Riri will have anything to do with the YA in the MCU, but yeah, I see your point. I read somewhere the actor who's supposedly playing Eli in TF&TWS is also of age. And if we count the pre-teen kid who may or may not be playing Kid Loki on the Loki show... it's definitely not a good look for Marvel that this is how the casting of the queer YA members look right now. Hopefully it's really just a bad coincidence and not something deliberate. Like I said, the Teddy casting might shed some light on this.

It's so adorable that Billy seems to be mimicking Wanda while Tommy seems to be mimicking Vision with their hand gestures. Can't wait to see them using more of their powers!

While I agree with that from a fan standpoint, I think it’s very likely we’re going to see them affiliated with the YA here just given when they’re being introduced.

Ok so an update on the WandaVision finale situation. It turns out that the guy who leaked the info on the final episode probably didn't have as much info as he tried to make it seem like he did. He DID leak the runtime of the episode and the screencap that's been posted here of the family together, but that's just what appears on Disney+, he didn't seem to have actually watched the episode. All his info was vague and he didn't provide any details and he recently deleted his reddit account. He claimed that the twins stay little kids, because all he saw from the episode is that one pic where they're still kids.

So now the possibility of the twins aging-up during the episode is back on the table. Although as has been pointed out earlier, apparently the mothers of the child actors were in the UK when filming on Doctor Strange 2 began. That does seem to imply that the twins will be in the movie as kids, but the child actors might only make an appearance in some sort of flashback or recap scene or something like that.

Also over on MarvelStudiosSpoilers reddit a gay member talked about how happy he was to see the picture of the family from the final episode and said; "I really hope they age up and become young avengers eventually" and one of the mods replied to him saying; "You're gonna like the next Doctor Strange movie." This mod is usually quite well-informed about casting news in the MCU and I remember him saying he heard that they cast teenage versions of Billy and Tommy for WandaVision.

At this point I really, really, reeeeeeeally don't know what to expect when it comes to whether we see teenage Wiccan in the last episode of WandaVision or if we'll be waiting to see Doctor Strange 2. And who knows when we'll actually start seeing the MCU movies again. Fingers crossed we see him sooner rather than later.

Yeah, the MCU isn't going to do two teen/young adult teams at the same time, so it seems pretty clear that they'll only do Young Avengers or Champions, not both. They should stay separate in the comics, but it won't surprise me at all to see Kamala and Riri in an MCU version of the Young Avengers after their solo shows. It does look like they have almost all of the comic YAs from the first team, plus America Chavez from the second, though. Apart from Hulkling, we're just missing Iron Lad and Jonas Vision at this point, right?
