I have less of an issue with Morrison's Hal stuff being self contained though. Like HsssH said, this probably wouldn't be the writer to build off of it anyway

On the other hand is there much stuff that you can use from Morrison's run without Hal? Young Guardians, what else? I mean sure, you can use Morrison's anti-matter stuff if you want to, but it was clearly built around Hal.

I get that, but he could have just left some members of the syndicate alive for other writers. More than Power Ring I was annoyed by Owlman dying. He screwed Nightwing and Dick never had an opportunity to get back at him. To me it felt like a huge wasted opportunity.

power ring death was probably meant to shore up how bad ass sinestro is. geoff seems to like the character...

I'm glad for both Grant and Liam's work. They wrote Hal as a competent character.
