Wasn't Barda also based on Kirby's wife, at least in part?

God that run sucks so bad, but that really is the lowest point.

Yeah, Byrne was in the middle of a beef with Kirby at the time.

    Such an odd man.

Yup, an all-around awful run but this especially is in such poor taste.

that also because of Byrne basically destroyed the Legion of Super Heroes as one of DC's most powerful/popular pillars.

DC vs Vampires #2 is a great time. Vampire Hal is exactly what I wanted out of Parallax back in the 90s. If you're gonna have Hal be evil, don't half ass it. And this book isn't doing that. It's clearly Hal Jordan, but warped into something monstrous by the vampire that killed him, which makes for a particularly compelling villain.

Him doing Sub-Zero's Fatality on Arcane was badass, I just wish he was being himself and Arcane was the vampire.

The last few pages speak for themselves. After the Injustice movie and now this, that dude is starting to get closer to jobber territory too.

I haven't seen any interviews with the creative team about this book yet, but presuming it wasn't mandated from the top, have they ever mentioned why they chose GL and specifically Hal for this role.

Big bad or not, since when is Hal Jordan, be it a "twisted" version of him, kneeling to somebody anyway.

This series is generating some weird Hal fanfiction/fan-art and I'm not sure how I feel about that.

Vampires are already sexy. Sad vampires are doubly-so. True story.
