Rafa Sandoval sure loved using fighter jets as constructs with Hal! DAMN cool!

Rafa has got to be in my top 5 GL artists.

He doesn't get enough credit for this book. The guy killed it. And to my recoolection not a single issue he drew was ever delayed despite the grueling schedule. Sometimes he drew entire arcs of 5-6 issues on a bi-weekly schedule. Insane.

Sandoval really shined with DC. In more ways than one .

Rafa rocked on HJ&tGLC, not quite Banks/Reis level but if I was in control of DC comics there would be multiple GL books and Ivan Reis, Darryl Banks and Rafa would be the first 3 artists I would put on the first three GL related books since George Perez is no longer an option.

Social media is a toxic toilet of negativity but I was definitely glad to learn about that today. Power abusers are the scum of the earth and belong in the same place as the type of individuals they swore an oath to protect society from. The main reason among many others about why people would never be able to convince me that Emerald Twilight was a good story development for Hal Jordan.

My re-read of Hal Jordan & The GLCorps has certain upped by appreciation for Raf Sandoval. I much prefer his issues to the ones done by EVS, whose style I respect, but feels more suited to horror than space opera.

I don't know if I could rank my favorite Hal Jordan artists in any particular order, but Jose Luis Garcia Lopez (praise be his name), Dave Gibbons, Darwyn Cooke, Ivan Reis, and Raf Sandoval are certainly in the top five.

I also have a soft spot of Keith Pollard, who drew a great Hal and Joe Staton, who did an amazing job with GL before his style got too cartoony.
