    i think so. i remember getting excited about it, largely due to people's praises of robinson's starman.

    Starman was amazing, and Robinson also wrote "The Golden Age" which was awesome. His other stuff, was ...not as good.

    If memory serves, that included a brief stint on Fantastic Four which was considerably less than excellent.

    Hollywood broke James Robinson and he's never fully recovered.

    I mean, he tried to adapt the League of Extraordinary Gentleman and we ended up getting the abomination that was LXG instead. I suspect that the experience of trying to navigate the studio, stars, and director on that film was a horrific experience for him

    just an idea, but with starman and the golden age, he sort of started from almost a clean slate. then he got to build from there. maybe he had a hard time finding the real voice of hal and oliver and the the rest of the team...

    There's a pretty wide gap between "struggling to find the character's voice" and whatever the heck was going on in Cry for Justice. That was just... strange.

    Seems like he got a little pick me up working on the Stargirl show, though .
