One thing that I blame Mark Waid for, is all of the flirtatious banter between Hal and Dinah in JLA Year One, because it breaks all kinds of bro code rules, although the story is set pre Canary/Ollie being serious. It is an idea I would never want present day but can't stop thinking about in the early days of their careers. The idea of that back then intrigues me. However I can't really imagine a woman that is that into Ollie being that into Hal. Though that type of thinking doesn't apply to Diana because I can't imagine a woman that is into Bruce being into Clark (and Arthur sigh poor Diana the other JLA women probably talk wicked ish about her in the ladies room). After how Johns protrayed the Hal Diana dynamic in Justice League, despite Hal's "dibs" I never have wanted to see them together even though I could see Hal reminding Diana a lot of Steve in a cinematic Justice League movie.
I could be misremembering, but wasn't Hal hitting on Dinah, but she was actually kinda interested in Barry? (though nothing really came of it)
And in terms of Batman v. Superman, I can see it - they're like Betty and Veronica. One's wholesome, the other's the "bad boy/girl" - people frequently find themselves torn between those two types.
