I think most of the people involved in that movie wished they hadn't of done it. To be fair, the producer-driven model for superhero films was working out pretty well for Marvel at that time, I can't fault WB too badly for thinking they could replicate it. They just didn't understand that they needed a Kevin Feige & a Jon Favereau.

perhaps a different director would have fared better.
