So dumb question as we’ve never really seen it ever but would Hal’s kid just naturally have lantern powers? I mean I know that most lantern kids related to older lanterns get picked via the ring but Hal is not exactly a standard lantern.

I mean he’s been Parallax, Spectre, God of Light, made of spectrum energy, and wielder of Multiverse Lantern energy, I mean if he has a kid I feel like that kid will be something akin to a more powerful version of Jade.

Biologically I don't think there's anything different to him...I mean, probably any kid Hal breeds and raises would be special, although I'm not sure if anything from a ring would transfer into him.

Keep in mind the kid's mother wouldn't exactly be considered an ordinary woman either, since she's been through her share of Rainbow Corps-related stuff as well and she's been exposed to as many cosmic energies as Hal has over the years. But from a biological standpoint I doubt there would be something "special" about that kid. Though it is an interesting topic for sure.

I'd love to see a Son/Daughter of Hal Jordan story set in a potential. The circumstances surrounding that kid's birth alone would be worth exploring given how many women Hal's fooled around with, yet never managed to get pregnant. For a little while, I assumed all the radioactive material Hal's been around had him shooting blanks, but there was that crappy story in JLI wherein Power Girl thought she might have gotten pregnant by Hal and he seemed genuinely concerned he might be the father, so I guess not.
