I recently rewatched Gundam Star Dust Memory. Three pilots on the Federation side totally could pass as dirtbag counterparts to Hal, Guy, and John, imo.

It's kind of funny in ASBAR because he gets clowned on really hard, but the clowning is happening while he's actually making a lot of good points that Batman ignores until Robin almost kills him. Then in DKSA Batman finally admits Hal was right
