My apologies for being insensitive but I don't like spoiler tags and it doesn't seem to work with pics anyway, so let's just get this over with. :>

Feeling bad about bombing Darkseid to dust
I guess in a way this is a refutation of Parallax storyline, instead of going mad Hal fights thru it and beats the entity that possessed him.
And those were Darkseid's own bombs that he was going to use with the boom tubes. It's not like Hal went to look for the bombs to use against Darkseid, he contained Darkseid's own weapons and gave him a taste of his own medicine, which I guess was meant to be the irony since Darkseid previously used Hal destroying the central power battery to stop him, against Hal by possessing him and trying to lure the League to their doom. There would probably still be some people not liking that Hal killed someone, but it's not like Darkseid didn't have it coming.

Last Ride turning out ok should give us some renewed hope for Dark Knights at least.
Bored at 3Am was right to mock us lol
Enjoyed Last Ride, was a fun little standalone and Hal did end up being the one to destroy Darkseid. Plus he and John will be building a new Corps so he came out of this story looking pretty good honestly.

Wouldn't mind Zdarsky writing Hal tbh, I think he has his voice down -- cool and confident with just the correct amount of righteous indignation and never straying into obnoxious territory (unlike Venditti's Hal who had to quip like an action hero every two seconds). If he can get the weirder aspects of the character down, I'd love to see him write Hal.
Hmm, Hal was alright in this but I got to say this series never rose above feeling like it was written on autopilot for me.

Definitely not on the same level as his Marvel work, which is pretty much how all his DC stuff has felt. Zdarsky loves Batman but by and large I get the sense he’s a “Batman and Marvel” kind of guy. No real deep love or appreciation for the wider DC Universe. Still a solid story however.
