Hal Jordan: The Green Lantern Appreciation 2021

I mean boring in the "uninspiring" sense. GLs without rings have been done multiple times before. Does anyone really read GL: Future State and thought "Yep, this is the direction I want GL to take"? I could see it as a possible future that must be prevented, but as the status quo going forward? It is just... Meh.

I'm of the same mind, but, like I said, I'd like to give the new creative team at least another issue to show me why this could be an interesting direction for the franchise to take.

I thought it was clever to show the rippling energy to indicate use of willpower since he's a "point and shoot" character. And I appreciated that it looked alien. I only didn't like how the feet looked as thin as socks rather than boots. That and they didn't get Hal's mask shape right.

So like, is the idea of Green Lantern being the most powerful weapon in the Universe still a thing?
I think only Morrison referenced this idea in any recent iterations.

The mask was the biggest problem for me. The rest could look alright if the mask was on-point, but if you can't take him seriously when looking at his face, no costume is going to fix it.

I will never tire of GLs as Emerald Knights. I need an elseworlds where it's Excalibur with GLs. Alan's Arthur and Hal's Percival.
