"After the tragic passing of Chadwick Boseman,
Marvel Studios has opted not to recast the character of T'Challa.
This decision carries a strong possiblity that they will also kill off
the character in the Black Panther franchise and in the MCU.
While Marvel may believe that this decision is in honor of Chadwick Boseman,
I believe that a better way to honor his memory is to actually recast the role of T'Challa."

Haha. I think it could happen if Marvel Studios makes the effort for it.

@616MarvelYear is LeapYear, a couple of things about the thread's title that makes it stand out jarringly.

First, putting that the Superhero focus being Black in a parenthetical aside doesn't look as good as it might have seemed. Simple titling the thread "Black Superhero Appreciation Thread 2021" is the way to go. Black is indeed an important, relevant qualifier and distinction, and not an aside.

Second, whenever using Black in contexts such as this one that refer to people (be they fictional or real) of African descent, always remember to capitalize the 'B' in Black.

Both the lack of capitalizing Black and putting the distinction of the Superheroes being Black as an aside work to make the title jarring because of how it seems to downplay an extremely relevant part of the context of the subject matter.

Just wanted to let you know so you'd be mindful of that and similar things like it going forward.

What is Power Man's current status? He doesn't seem to be with the Champions anymore, which is a shame.

Marvel is sitting on a character with a great potential. With his ability to collect chi, to amp his strenght to unknown levels, he is like a manga character in a comics world. He already did what looks like a genkidama.
With some skilled writer and artist, a Power Man comics (or, let's be crazy, a cartoon) could attract anime fans.

I'd like for the character to be given his own unique superhero name.

    new article about Jackie McGee:

    https://www.cbr.com/immortal-hulk-ja...seeing-ghosts/

I hope she survives the end of this story arc. It would be too bad for her to end up killed (though with the green door.. is she immortal?)

I'm also not really a fan of giving her she-hulk powers- I'd be okay with the 'gamma vision' and related passive powers.. put her on a supernatural investigation team.. work with Blade, Dr. Voodoo. She could write stories about mysterious vanishings, etc.
This could be Marvel's version of Justice League Dark.

    I chose many,

Storm: for one she's like Marvels female Thor - lets be honest ... and it's WW.

Night Thrasher: in a street level comic, he can even run into DD. Same with...

    Silohouette.

Bishop: in another District X type book. Idea: An urban community away from all the paradise and tropical setting misses the city feel of their old neighborhoods. They need a cop. Mysteries also ensue.

Shard: She can go on mutant adventures dancing and kicking butt and maybe a little swashbuckling. A more lively life that she always craved.

Luke Cage: Street level series is what I prefer but since he's been Avengering in the past some adventure would be good.

I didn't choose Monica Rambeau because instead of a solo book I'd prefer her to lead a team.

What’s everyone’s opinion on Goliath Tom Foster?

Do you think he’s a worthy successor to Bill Foster?

Should there be “black Ant-man” or are there already too many shrinking characters?

If Marvel can have a thousand flying/strength/speed types, none of the other types are too much

Bill Foster's death was bullshit. Suddenly pushing a never-before-seen son as his replacement was just a bad patch over an ugly wound, IMO, and fixes nothing.

Should there be “black Ant-man” or are there already too many shrinking characters?
If so, the character should definitely explore new territory.

He shrinks weapons, a la West Coast Avengers Dr. Pym, Scientific Adventurer, and even has a shrunken suit of armor that expands around him and snaps into place, for instance (one that coincidentally resembles / is made of an insect carapace? Just to lean into the whole 'Ant-Man' concept?).

Or he uses Pym particles to generate mass, the same way that other users use it to grow, or to expand again after shrinking, only he uses it to generate more of himself, up to his original mass, so that with the click of a button there are a thousand of him, ant-sized and swarming all over the place, like an army of (teeny tiny) Madroxes.

Or he uses Pym particles to generate (or reduce!) mass of other stuff, like creating a massive gust of wind, by programming the expansion effect to affect the air in front of him, or earth tremors by affecting the ground beneath him.

Or he uses Pym particles to generate bio-mass, like growers and *******rs, but the bio-mass isn't necessarily his own flesh and bone, but modified tissue, like giant bug limbs, or a giant bug form, or even swarms of virtual insects that are entirely composed of Pym particle copies of some actually bug somewhere that is living happily in an ant farm and has no idea that it is the template for his virtual bug swarms.

Different stuff. Lean into the possibilities with Pym particles, and definitely make any new 'Ant-Man' someone scientifically smart in their own right, like Raz Malhotra, not just someone who stole a suit like Scott Lang or Rita DeMara. There's been a run on girl geniuses, and even black girl geniuses, of late, with Luna and Riri, so perhaps we could use another smart black boy. (And yes, I know we have some. T'challa, David Alleyne, Blue Marvel, etc. But it's not like we don't already have a dozen white boys banging around the smart guy club with Stark, Richards, Banner, Parker, von Doom, etc.)

Yeah, the White male genius to Black male genius is fairly skewed in the former's direction.
