Looks like John Stewart is making some kind of appearance (probably cameo) in Jessica Cruz's Unearthed Book:

It appears that Jessica is a teen in this story. Since they appear to be classmates, John Stewart is also a teen in this story as well. I always thought John was much older than Jessica. That would mean this story took place before he became a Green Lantern as well.

That's why I was a bit surprised about it. But this is a non-cannon story.

From a general standpoint, it does kind of worries me whether these kind of dynamic relationships from history ever be acknowledged when a new writer steps in. It also comes down to how much of an impact of what these characters and their relationships has had in the past. Some writers may not be aware of it, don't like the direction, or it could be something else. *shrugs*

I wonder if anyone reading this will assume there's more of a Jessica/John thing in the comics than they're actually is...although it might be cool if more GL's make a cameo appearance in the book.
