John Stewart: Green Lantern Appreciation 2021

Yeah I’m just assuming it would be John in the rumored trilogy, but it feels like a safe assumption given
1. He was the main GL in CoIE
2. He’s getting a push as the main GL currently and this movie would have been put into development during the current era
3. Given the rumor says it will bring in every animated universe DC has ever made, that means DCAU John Stewart at the very least would be in it.

An animated COIE trilogy is rumoured to be in development. John was the GL at the time so I guess the logical conclusion is that he will be the GL for that project.

this was a weird episode where they have the aesthetic of the show changed drastically. BUT... that's only 1/3 of this image.

So I read today's issue and I thought it was great. This issue is probably one of Tom Raner's best works in Green Lantern. The battle scenes with John was nice. Based off of this issue, it's entirely possible that John can actually be be a living power battery where Green Lanterns can feed off their energy from. Bored's earlier analysis is probably correct.

The GLs were taken out early, leaving only John and later Guy as some of the only Lanterns left. Hal had given up his ring prior to Crisis for Carol, which turned out disastrously for him and he spent the majority of Crisis trying to get back in the game.

The GL Crisis issues are well worth checking out. They're not only great John Stewart comics that feature his earliest encounters with Katma Tui and Sinestro, but also feature great stuff with Guy recruiting Hal into his own Suicide Squad of villains to attack the Anti-Matter Universe of Qward. Fun, fun stuff.

Yeah I thought Raney really turned it up a notch this issue! Excited to see where John’s power up is going to take him, and what the Godstorm being unleashed means. Enjoyed seeing more of the New Genesis Gods get used as well, normally it’s just the Apokoliptans, very refreshing to read a story that leans on their counterparts here.

Enjoyed seeing more of the New Genesis Gods get used as well, normally it’s just the Apokoliptans, very refreshing to read a story that leans on their counterparts here.

I also wouldn't mind John having this upgrade for a while, but at the same time I would like to see a story that can be more character driven and explore more of his mindset.
